Recent events in Israel have served as a graphic reminder of how hate speech and incitement can ultimately lead to tragic and deadly results. Undoubtedly, Jews and Israelis have been on the receiving end of both Palestinian terrorism and the anti-Semitic incitement spread by those who wish to see the destruction of the Jewish state. This is not, however, an excuse for supporters of Israel to descend to that level.

That’s why we are reminding our readers of our Comments Policy and asking that you take a moment to think before you post beneath our articles.

It’s all too easy to get angry at some of the incidents of media bias that we cover and those journalists and media outlets who bear responsibility. And it might give you a sense of satisfaction to publicly vent that anger on our comments sections.

We will not tolerate comments deemed at our sole discretion to be defamatory, libelous, inflammatory, obscene, pornographic, profane, abusive, support or advocate violence. Nor will we tolerate comments exhibiting racism or discrimination based on ethnic or national origin, color, culture, religion, sex, occupation, sexual orientation, belief, political view or socio-economic class.

Comments of this nature on our site make it even harder to hold a civilized discourse on the serious issues of the day and do nothing to further Israel’s cause or the fight for accurate coverage.

We will be making greater efforts to enforce our Comments Policy and we ask that our readers contribute by posting intelligent and informed comments below our articles.

Let’s make our comments section a place that we can all feel comfortable posting on.
