Breaking News: Gaza Missile Hits Israeli Bus, 2 Injured

April 7, 2011 15:45 by

An anti-tank missile hit an Israeli bus outside Kibbutz Saad in the Shaar HaNegev area, critically injuring a teenage boy and the driver.

Residents are being instructed to remain in shelters as additional mortars were fired.

Let’s see how many papers cover this attack. I bet the MSM will give more emphasis to the Israeli response.

Post a comment on how this is covered in your area.

UPDATE 6:25 pm: It didn’t take long for BBC to revert to form:

The Beeb’s inverted background info is even worse. Israeli security measures are stated as fact, while “bouts of terror and rocket attacks” are attributed to something “Israel said.”

Last month saw some of the worst violence since Israel launched Operation Cast Lead in Gaza in December 2008.

In one week in March, at least 10 Palestinians – including several civilians and children – were killed by Israeli attacks.

In the same period, militants in Gaza fired more than 80 rockets and mortar shells into southern Israel.

Hamas had pledged to try to restore a ceasefire that ended on 16 March when an Israeli air strike killed two of its militants in the Palestinian territory.

However, Israel said it had suffered “bouts of terror and rocket attacks”.

See HR’s latest media critique on the Goldstone Report, which covered Israel’s efforts to defend its citizens against Palestinian rocket attacks.

The enemies of Israel, which are many, are the enemies of the G-D of Israel, Which as a Christian is my G-D as well. Therefore my enemies too. The end times are at hand, They will all stand before the Judgement seat in due course. My prayers for Israel and its people will continue until the return of our Lord. Shalom Israel, Shalom.

Same kind of crap from cbc.ca….”Gaza Missile Strike Prompts Israeli Retaliation”, and after ever so briefly mentioning that an anti-tank missile struck a school bus, (almost sounds like just a stray…) it goes on in much more detail to say how the Israelis killed 5, how one was a civilian (just minding his own business out there by the fence…didn’t hear any commotion?) and another a cop, bla bla bla.

You would think it would read “Palestinian Militants Fire Anti-Tank Missile on Israeli School Bus”…I’m often surprised by how anti-Israeli they are here in Canada. However the Palestinians do it, it works….I talk to the general public and if they have any opinion at all, it’s anti-Israeli. To me their propaganda looks so blatant and stupid…not a compliment on our society!

To ” Marie” – Why aren’t you using the right word?It is not “militants”.It is TERRORISTS.
I do not think Canadian society is anti-Israel.
I do think Canadian Media outlets are very anti-Semitic.WHY? Because they have been bought by
Arab oil money.Canadian editors have been bought as well.Their bosses are mostly Arabs.
And some Canadians are being mislead by these obnoxious articles . Most Canadian newspapers are completely biased in favor of the fake arab narrative. It is so obvious that they should be ashamed of themselves. But they go on publishing lies, as if we are all stupid people. We are not.
      Any comments?

The norwegian state channel Nrk quote Reuters to say that the Israeli response came as a result of rocket missile hitting a bus, saying that according to Reuters it was a schoolbus, as if it has not been confirmed that it really was a israeli schoolbus. The insident is not beeing covered in any headlines and some dont bother to mention it at all. And when mentioned they give more emphasis to the Israeli response, as usual. The media seems to be more interesting in the preparation of a new Gaza flotilja where norwegians seems to be standing in line to join, among them the vice president of the norwegian parlament pakistani Akhtar Chaudhry.

Stop this insanity of allowing attack after attack. Target the terror leaders. Go after them with no mercy. Get rid of them. When attacked, respond massively. Make them afraid to attack Israel.
Either get serious and defend Israel, or go wandering in the desert.

Bravo!!! Your response is on the mark. What the Israelis have to realize is that international criticism will continue no matter what they do and Israel simply needs to ignore all of that. As to the U.N. Israel needs to ignore them too as it has become a useless organization.

Has to Gaza, the Israeli response needs to be devastating to any attack by Hamas or any of the many splinter groups that are given comfort by Hamas. And to those of you who think the children are innocent, think again. They are permanently poisoned by their parents and by the Palestinian education system to hate Jews.

I feel that next time there is a barrage of rockets and mortars from Gaza, the town/area/camp they come from should receive a liberal dose of Naplam and world opinion be damned.

In the pictures ublished in the Israeli media it is very clear that this was a YELLOW SCHOOL BUS!!!! That means that the shooters knew that they are not firing the missile on a tank. I bet that they had been afraid to shoot a real tank, but a school bus… that’s easy. Haven’t seen this photo in CNN or any other network in Canada or the US.

The Bible says there is a time for everything. Now is the time to to use massive force to the extent that Hamas will either never fire another rocket or think twice or three times before targeting innocent civilians again. Israel gets enough negative press and condemnation anyway for its retaliation so that the massive strike will garner such a rebuke but will fade in a brief period of time, thus having a sobering effect on Hamas for a protracted period of time.

As expected, to the hypocritical and biassed Western media, the fact that a schoolbus was deliberately targeted (these are always yellow), will be downplayed and emphasis will be on the IDF response. This being the case I believe that the IDF should react so that all those little rats will be forced to hide for the next few weeks. The enlightened West will condemn Israel – GOOD. Israel is fed up with those crocodile tears. Maybe some of those English/Irish/Spanish/Belgian/Swedish/Norwegian/Others/ sanctimonious bleeding hearts would like a four-week paid-for vacation in one of the villages/towns around the Gazan. border? Phony bastards!

Targeting a school bus with an anti tank missile is a war crime and a crime against humanity. The UN should be voting on taking the Hamas leaders to a Nuremberg type trial, not voting for a state for these thugs.

    Muslims and Christians:

2000 years of slandering the Jews from the Christian churches (Vatican responsible) bear their fruits. Anti-Semitism has been flourishing for all those years, add to that the fact that the West has more interest in placating the Muslims, 1.5 billion potential customers that supply them with oil and purchasing weapons and goods.

On the other side you have 5 millions Jews, Israel, that not only represent a people that they’ve been hating for so long, but are also formidable competitors in many fields. Nobel prizes, innumerable patents and so on, in spite of wars, Intifadas, etc.
For the West, that’s a fish bone in its throat.

Muslims on the other hand, want to destroy the original author of their “Coran”. They don’t even know, maybe some of them do, that the Coran is a copy of the Torah, excluding all the good deeds, Mitzvot, etc., and modifying it to their male dominated societies, like keeping women as slaves, having their own harem, chopping hands and heads for whatever reason, etc.
I never heard of a so-called “religion” that makes the killing and obliteration of another people, a divine act.

What’s the difference between Nazism and Muslims? One is called a political regime, the other a “religion” having both the same goal… With their Shariah law, it’s exactly the same thing, annihilation of the Jews and any other “infidels” !

Maybe the end of times is really happening, “The children of Esau and Ishmael will join to annihilate the children of Jacob”.

Hopefully, the prophecy will follow with the coming of Machiah. Bezrat Hashem.
    Shalom to all.

“At least 3 Palestinians were killed and many injured when Israeli forces launched a hard attack on several targets on the Gaza Strip.”

Well, in Norway the Israel-bashing suit is the predictable “prêt-à-porter” default. There’s even a Google translate ( “Norwegian journalism”) to make it fit. (The three professors of journalism are marxists or x-marxists.).

I couldn’t endorse napalm, although I must confess I’ve fantasized about Israel carpet bombing one of those Hamas funerals, and taking out about 1000 Hamas terrorists in one master stroke.
As far as punitive measures go, how about a new Israeli policy that, every time there’s a new attack from Gaza, Israel permanently annexes an extra kilometer of land from Gaza, not to put Jews there, but to widen the buffer zone and thus make it harder for the terrorists to attack? I’ve always advocated that doing the opposite of what the terrorists want, in response to every single terror attack, is the best way to discourage terrorism. So when Spain was attacked some years ago, due to their membership in the Afghanistan coalition (which led to them pulling out their troops), they should’ve ADDED troops in response.

      Gary,

Your ideas have merit but until Israel realizes that what they do should not be influenced by world media or world opinion, the same nonsense will continue. I like napalm because all the Israelis will need to do is use it a few times in a few appropriate places. Napalm will flow into places like sewers and tunnels where the dirty Hamas rats live.

To be burned is one of those things people fear the most.

    Nursecrd,
While I agree that Israel should ignore the opinion of the world community who are against Israel anyway (who cares what Sudan thinks?), Israel must still care about the impression she gives to the U.S. Remember that picture from the Vietnam War of the little girl running naked down the road, after her village was attacked with napalm? Anyone who lived in the ’60s recalls that photo, despite the fact the Vietnamese weren’t the propagandists the Palestinians are. Do you really want an image like that burned into your consciousness for decades, featuring a Palestinian girl? The world’s consciousness? Israel has limits, even if Hamas doesn’t. That’s why when we arrest a sadistic murderer, we don’t torture him; we treat him better than he treated his victims. Granted, if Israel did to Hamas what Hamas would like to do to Israel, the destruction in Gaza would harken back to WWII Dresden. It might make you feel avenged, but it would do too much damage to your soul. And I sure wouldn’t want to be the IDF pilot who dropped the napalm. Life changing event, that.
Perhaps the next time Israel intercepts a shipment of rockets and explosives bound for Gaza, they should implant tiny remote control detonators and let the shipment through. Then a few weeks later, when they press the button to detonate the explosives, they can watch all the mosques, hospitals and schools where Hamas stored them vaporize. Would that satisfy you?

I recall that picture from Viet Nam, but this situation is different. First, the terror inflicted by Hamas and similar groups is very random and does not care a wit for it’s victims. The rockets they fire are unguided as are the mortar shells and whoever has the misfortune of being near one when it hits, well… The beauty of napalm is that it is a weapon that inflicts terror too, much worse than a rocket or a mortar shell. It gets into places that might stop a rocket or a mortar shell so what you are doing is making the person(s) on the receiving end feel very unsafe and you just might get them to re-consider and give up on their next terrorist act. The smell of burnt flesh, which I have smelled and will never forget, is a very powerful tool as death by fire is a pretty awful way to go. If the napalm happens to seep into an underground arms cache that is protected by a bombproof bunker, you then have the same result as planting hidden explosive devices, as you suggest.

The firebombing of Dresden and of many Japanese cities during WWII, well it was war. As for Dresden, think about London for a moment. V-2 rockets killed a lot of people and the person who was pushing the button to launch them, Hitler, was a psychotic, just like the terrorists. Remember, Israel is at war with these pyschotics and they deserve no pity.

My point about Vietnam was not to debate the merits of using it then versus using it now. It was to point out that the horror of napalm leaves an impact that is permanent in nature. Even one photo like the Vietnam example would for decades be a stain against Israel, especially the way the Palestinians would utilize it. I still recall the static Israel got during and after the war against Hezbollah, when Israel was accused of using phosphorus. Napalm would be even worse, especially in a civilian area. Yes, Hamas uses civilian areas, so it would really be their fault, but most of the world would blame Israel tenfold.
Maybe it’s time for Israel to develop its own fleet of Predator drones, to send Hellfire missiles at Hamas rocket squads, before they even have a chance to launch. Personally, I’m afraid Israel is eventually going to have to go back into Gaza and reoccupy. I grant you it’s a real rats’ nest. By the way, I’m truly sorry that you ever had to smell burning flesh. Nobody should ever have to experience that. I pray you will never have to again.

People, Israel has The IDF-Period. The best army round the world. They have always fought defensive
wars. You should stop talking about Israel becoming a terrorist ,napalm, drones, etc.
The last misile was laser- targeted . Was directed to the bus .(OK DIDI?)
Everybody here is missing the fact that Israel has the real rights to live in all these lands. It gained its rights by the British Mandate and The Ligue of Nations. This cannot be changed by any resolution
whatsoever. Israel is not an occupying nation. The British Mandate allowed Israel Palestine to build the Jewish National Home. Arabs are the real occupiers.Because Arabs were given
Transjordan as their state by the Mandate.
In 1967 war, Israel regained its lands,(in a defensive war) that had belonged to the Jews who were fighting the Persian, Roman,Mameluk,Otoman and none of them was able to defeat the Jews. The “palestinians” never existed as a country .They were arabs coming from neighboring arab countries.Ask them to tell their narrative prior to 1913.They will refuse.WHY?Because they have no history, no Arab ancestors were born in Judea,Samaria or Gaza.Palestine was Jewish land.Wars are wars.Terrorism is quite a different thing .
Moreover, Arafat never accepted the idea of a “palestinian” state.Because he wanted all the lands.
    And nothing less.
For those of you speaking about reoccupying Gaza, what are you going to do with the terrorist leaders of Hamas and Co?Even wars have rules.Let´s follow them.

      To Susan and Gary,

Why should we stop talking about the use of napalm and drones and the like? Hamas, Iran and others related to them have not stopped talking about wiping Israel off of the map. What we have here is a war of terror that will escalate sooner rather than later into a real conflict. The aforementioned group of terror states/institutions are not going to play nice or abide by any rules of decency. Why should Israel? Israel should take off the kid gloves and use extreme force. This is all these terrorists understand, extreme force. The terrorists are indiscriminate in who they target and who they kill. Time for the same for them and lots of it.

And if Syria or Iran get involved, it will be all over but the crying. Better for things to be settled now before the Iranians get any further with their nefarious plans. And if the Israelis have the bomb I can think of a few good places to use some such as Damascus, Tehran, Beirut, and if necessary Cairo.
