Are You Ready to Take Your Israel Advocacy Up a Notch?
May 29, 2012 8:19 by Pesach BensonJust finished reading one the most unbelievably skewed commentaries I’ve ever seen. It’s so bad, I actually see it as a teachable moment. So rather than debunk it myself, I’m turning this over to the readers.
So take a stab at addressing the issues raised by Belfast Telegraph columnist Eamonn McCann. We’re talking about:
- The Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions movement.
- The International Criminal Court’s ruling against Israel’s security barrier.
- The Palestinian “right” of return.
- Accusations of Israeli apartheid.
- IDF baby killers and a comparison with the Nazis.
Are you up to “fisking” McCann? Are you ready to take your Israel advocacy up a notch?

This type of stuff nauseates me. All I can do is come up with some wit using their same language. Such as, The World Must Open Its Eyes and See Eamonn McCann For What He Is. And then I would tell them that Eamonn is:
-A hatemonger, using out of date comparisons and untrue accusations to make his case against the right of Jews to live freely (as in, without the constant threat of violence) in the Middle East.
- A fool, using out of date comparisons and untrue accussations to make his case for why it’s okay to disregard Israel’s right to exist.
- And a blowhard, for using out of date comparisons and untrue accusastions for possibly the umpteenth time, never once adjusting his arguments shortcomings in an attempt to make Israel the constant heavy against the pro-Palestinian mantras of how Israel is some sort of colonistic enterprise hellbent on making life difficult for those “non-whitte” people of Arabian origin.
I would continue to point out that folks who think like this are the real baby killers in the world, pointing out that this constant need to express such hostility is the reason for the school shooting in Toulouse and the attack on the Fogel family. That these people are simpleton racists, proclaiming that Israel is some sort of “white” European colony when in fact Israel is not this. That these folks who claim to be fighting a fight against ignorance are deathly silent when there is an all out war going on in Syria.
Yes, I would say all of this, and the end result will be the continuance of the same cycle. Where I will be called a “racist” and “dupe” and part of the “worldwide Zionist cabal.”
No, these people are scum. I don’t need to waste my time with these racist, cowardly, violence loving fools.

My reply to the paper:
The International Court of Justice issued an advisory opinion, not a binding decision. Its opinion was highly flawed, and adopted the General Assembly’s definitions of “Palestinian territory.” However, their is no “Palestine,” there has never been a “Palestine,” and any borders for a future “Palestine” remain open for negotiation (if Arab leaders ever decide to sit down at the bargaining table). So the ICT opinion is built on a house of cards.
For the same reasons, it is inaccurate to refer to the West Bank as “occupied Palestinian lands.” True, the territories are disputed. However, the last internationally recognized hegemony over the West Bank was the Ottoman Empire, which renounced same, after WWI. Nobody called the land “occupied Palestinian land” when the Brits controlled it, and nobody used that term when Jordan controlled it (only for 19 years). The term is a political concoction of recent vintage, which implies the reverse racist message, “Jews shouldn’t be allowed to have autonomy over ‘sacred Muslim lands.’” If you doubt me, ask any Palestinian leader, political or religious, whether Jews will be allowed to live in a future Palestinian state (never mind that over one million Muslims are Israeli citizens). Ask them what the official penalty is for any Palestinian who sells his land to a Jew (death). Ask the “moderate” PA leader, Mahmoud Abbas, why official Palestinian television repeatedly shows programs that depict a future Palestinian state as all of Israel.
So Mr. McCann, instead of explaining why you focus so much on Israel, despite all the other human rights issues in the world, you should question why you pay any attention to Israel at all.

McCann is a supreme Jew hater who needs his mental illness examined. He should be kept away from guns, knives, rope and liver. He knows what he is writing. It fits with his agenda. Jew haters are excellent liars, who would make Goebbels proud.
