The fact that a Bedouin school is in Khan al-Ahmar is illegally built and unsafe is unimportant to The Guardian, compared to the rights of indigenous people to let their kids crawl through sewage pipes to get to a ramshackle structure made from nothing but tires and mud.

More importantly, as far as Harriet Sherwood’s concerned, this dispatch fits the silly media mindset that Israel is ethnically cleansing the Bedouin. She buries the fact that Khan al-Ahmar is itself an unauthorized village.

If Israel really had such little regard for the Bedouins, I think the government would turn a disinterested blind eye to the danger the Bedouin place their children in by sending them to such unsafe schools.
