Breaking News: Facebook Shuts Down Third Intifada Group

Despite previous statements saying they would monitor but not remove the controversial Facebook group calling for a Third Intifada, Facebook administrators shut down the group early Tuesday morning in response to enormous pressure from pro-Israel activists. All links to the group now go to users personal Facebook profile.
The group had been calling for a march on Israel to “liberate” Palestine beginning on May 15. It remains to be seen how Facebook will respond if similar groups emerge with similar message of a Third Intifada.
New media expert Andre Oboler, one of the first to discover the group was down, told HonestReporting that Facebook made the correct decision shutting down the group. “It’s about time,” he said. “Facebook needs to learn to distinguish between the right to ‘attack’ conceptual ideas, and the ‘wrong’ of attacking people be it because of their race, religion, nationality or political view. When they start to understand that, perhaps they will stop making so many mistakes.”

What bothered me more than anything is the amount of young school age girls that belonged to the site. This has to be the influence of what they are being taught in school, I doubt that these thoughts are formatted by themselves.

The sad thing about this article though is that the author says “pressure from pro-Israel activists”. This isn’t pressure from pro-Israel activists. It’s a human issue! Human beings should and did stand up for what is right.
I proud to stand with Israel, but I would do this no matter who it was against because it’s just wrong!

maybe the israelis should start treating arabs the way arabs treat arabs. then again, maybe not; rape, torture, beheading, stoning, amputation and an occasional beating to death; i don’t think they’re up to it. it requires a dysfunctional culture and a level of self hate that is difficult to emulate, a culture whose primary “achievement” is the subjugation, humiliation and degradation of half its population; women. too bad they don’t give nobels for that. no wonder that they need to tear down israel; it’s a daily reminder of what they could be if they struggled for a few generations and educated their children instead of blowing them up.
no matter how hard arabs may try, they can’t elevate themselves by tearing israel down.
that simple truth that should be comprehensible to even minds stuck in the middle ages.
