Caught on Camera: “Stoning” Attack on Israeli Car

February 23, 2012 15:00 by

How often are Palestinian stone throwing attacks presented by the media as a minor nuisance or a merely symbolic form of resistance against well-armed Israelis?

Related content: MSM, Stone Throwers Collude and Collide in Silwan

The reality is that such attacks can seriously injure or kill as was the case in September 2011 when Asher Palmer and his infant son Yehonatan were killed when their car crashed as a result of a stoning attack.

As YNet News reports, Israeli teacher Zehava Weiss is extremely lucky to have escaped unharmed in another such attack this week:

Luckily, Weiss said, her car is armored, but even so “the windshield was shattered and the exterior was dented in several places. They were throwing bricks, not stones.”

The moment of the attack was caught by both AFP and AP photographers.

These images beg the question about the role of those photographers in this incident. We’ve seen many times how incidents such as this only occur if Palestinian youths have an audience. Clearly the presence of the media influences the situation. There have even been suggestions of active collusion with the stone throwers in order to create the perfect image for the watching media.

It should be MANDATORY for all drivers to run over rock throwers. They are trying to KILL you. Retaliate. Your Government isn’t.

      I AGREE!!
When will the planet wake up to what is really happening I’m Israel, AND when will the IDf start depending the country without apologizing for doing so. This is crazy, what other country would pander to terrorists the way the Israelis do ….. wait a minute WE do too.

if one considers just how much the worlds internet views of such instances around the world IE, Libya, Egypt, currently Syria, that is sourced from individuals who stay hidden away from the action one begins to understand that journos may have some influence however it is shown from individual sources that what is going on is very often going to happen without the camers in view, in essence the real thing happens anyway.

The photographer is from the Associated Press – he’s a Press Camera man. He’s paid a minium wage while stationed in Israel to find a story, and when it’s found and it goes to press he gets a maximium wage of big bucks. At the moment there are hundreds of journalists (Press) stationed in Israel just waiting for such a story, and if it doesn’t happen – they invent one. e.g. They encourage the youth to start a scene so they can film it, then send it back home to the Boss. The Boss publishes it or film footage is release on TV, then the sends the Camers man / crew their fat cheques as a reward – that’s how it works.
In my books it’s the PRESS who encourage such, and should be held responsible, e.g. fined, jailed, deported. (A friend who was a Press Reporter for CBS News while in Israel told me that this is a reality among his Press collegues).

      Minimum Wage???
      Not usually.
Usually they only get expenses and medical benefits covered. If they get a printable story then the wages kick in.
They will Exagerate, Fabricate and do most anything to get a story. In this rock throwing they probably picked the location for best camera angles – phoptographers just hapened to be on both sides of the road?
These photographers were complicit in this ambush and should be prosecuted.

I just realized that the word “stoning,” in the title of this story, is not the only word that should be in quotation marks; the word “caught” should be, too.

The interesting thing about the photographs is that both photographers had their cameras set the same way, super fast shutter and they fired the shutter within milliseconds of each other as the first rock hit the windshield. They picked a time with the sun just about overhead, perfect lighting. And they both got near perfect pictures of the first stone hit, not likely if the camera was just on automatic.

Don’t know about you all, but by the time I get a camera setup for a special situation like this the situation is past. That’s why they are professionals. I’d put them on photographing UFOs. Imagine what clear pictures we would finally get.

I am set to agree that there are pretty big questions as to how exactly these pictures were obtained, but one thing is clear to me – a few months back two innocent humans, a Dad and his toddler were smashed to death with a boulder as big as a watermelon flung by Palestinians from an oncoming car on their windshield. And that is what truly matters and puts things straight.

Two journalists were killed in Syria recently. I attempted to post on the BBC that perhaps these journalists were contributing to stirring up the revolution in Syria and maybe the loss of such journalists is a benefit to the World. Of course the BBC deleted my post.

We require a strong and free press. But journalism walks a fine line between reporting news and influencilng the news and perhaps even organlizing the news.

Overall to me it is a profession that today is increasingly populated by bad people. But some are heroes so it is often hard to know what really is going on.

Could happen- Has happened – is happening-

      Riots in Rochdale, Oldham-

Remember the riots and death threats to Salmon Rushdie!

Even the Judges have a tear- “Jewish student bit on face by Muslim student whist protesting against anti-Israeli stand”- Judge said “That the prosecution could not proove the Muslim student was NOT acting in self defense”. What kind of findings is that!

Most journalists love Israel. It’s the cushiest assignment they could hope for. They have these stone-throwing performers ready to give them some “action” to falsely report on. Then they can go for a coffee at many of the cafes. Then perhaps a swim at the Hilton pool, or off to a spa. All the while under the protection of the state and its democratic institutions they so despise. All of these photographers who enable and encourage terrorism should be parachuted in to Damascus, from where we eagerly await their reports.

There is no answer because they do not care to listen. But what I try to convey is the hypothetical situation of me launching eggs at their windows. How long do they think it will take fro them to call the cops and have me arrested? A week? A day? An hour? And my hypothetical situation is only calling for eggs: not missiles, not rocks. Eggs. Against their window.

If they’re cool with the hypothetics– “That wouldn’t bother me none!”– then they can post their address.

Obviously the ‘light’ has been extinguished in Mr Light-Bright’s brain!
Quote “They are just kids”…. Sure they are, but they are trained as murderers of the ‘infadel’ from 9 years old or even younger in many cases. The Journalists/Photographers do not care how they get the story, or at what cost to whom, so long as they can create a name for themselves.
Why didn’t these ‘men’ go to the woman’s aid? She couldn’t defend herself, but they just kept on
‘clicking’. Disgusting!!! These are not men…they are cowards!!

What I find so unbelievable is that instead of stopping the youth from throwing rocks they are busy clicking away. Such callous behavior should be condemned in the strongest of terms. Why is it that very few bat an eyelid at this barbaric act of stone throwing in the first place. Has hatred for Israel and the Jews so blinded them that they condone such acts of terrorism?

I’m repeating something I’ve already said on this site, but one caller to BBC world service said the BBC commentary about Syria’s situation was like ‘Syrian rebels’ central’. If the rest of the world left Syria to work out her own problems, there wouldn’t be 90% of death and destruction. Street rioters won’t be risking their own and the rest of their neighbours’ lives if they didn’t have an audience. While there is a huge investigation going on in England over the newspapers’ shifty handling of the people they’re reporting about, the BBC should also be investigated for their manipulative dealings and reporting!

    Hey Cliff Ross,
I slightly disagree. I think that any driver attacked like Zehava Weiss should have AND HAS the right of absolutely ANY self defense (they want to kill you!!!) – such as running several times over the attackers regardless their age, shooting them (preferably several times into their heads), pouring petrol over them and setting them on fire, etc. Why ONLY the mandatory running over the rock throwers?

Just a little Palestinian-style free speech here. The global media seems to give the Arab world a free pass on violent and barbaric behavior like this, especially when lodged against Israelies. Journalism used to be and honored and impartial profession to be a member of. Sadly, those days have long since passed. The media double standard in reporting news out of the Middle East continues to be horriffically and sadly tilted again Israel. It would be nice to see balanced reporting return to the region. With the state of the media today, I’m not particularly hopeful.

    Hey Friends – Face reality.
No matter where you find the Media / Press you will find dishonesty, chicanery, rabid bias and a ideological stereotyped Socialist / Marxist who is also pro Muslim.

They all make millions. Diane Sawyer is worth over 40 million, Katy Couric annual salary was 13.5 million.

If you have ever seen Brian Ross interviewed you have to wonder if he is’nt the poster child. They also don’t care if a 1,000 of our soldiers,

You are pointing the finger at the wrong people. Yes I agree that what they say is wrong regarding Israel. I recently toured a TV station and the conductor of the tour explained how we get our news while we were standing in the control room. It goes like this:

      The Management
(hires and directs the producer and those under him/her)
      The Producer
(assembles content and controls what is said)
      The Director
(make sure the visual and audio product is technically and aesthetically correct, i.e., follows the producer’s orders)
      The Talking Head
(reads the news and plays the part of actually knowing what is going on under the control of the director and producer)

So it is with TV. Printed matter is not much different. Replace producer, director and talking head with chief editor, sub editor’s, compositors and photographers. The fact is we have to start tracking the producers and editors that put this stuff out. They are lurking in the shadows and pulling the strings. I am not totally letting the Talking Heads off the hook, but light needs to shine into the producer’s control room and chief editor’s desk where the ultimate responsibility for what is called “objective” media (not).

I wonder if anyone knows a list of known anti-Israel producers or chief editors?

    Hey Friends

    Wake up to reality.

When it come to our domestic Media / Press or International Media / Press it is very unlikely if not impossible to find an honest fair Journalist. They long ago flushed the Journalism Creed down the toilet.

They all (99.99%) are dishonest, totally biased and the ideological emobdiement of a sterrotypical Socialist / Marxist, who is also blindly pro Muslim.

When a photograph, video or story makes world wide circulation they are rained on by money.
Their resume gets a gold star and they usually get a Journalism award. That’s like getting an Oscar.

I have nothing against millionaires. But the Medi / Press are greedy low lifes and could not care less if one or 1,000 of our soldiers were injured or killed as a result of one of their stories. This happened over and over in Iraq, The Media / Press was pro-terrorist & anti-American Soldier. In my opinion news reports by our Journalists were “directly” responsible for hundreds of our soldires dieing. Journalists also exacerbate alsmost anything.throught self interest.

Diane Sawyer is worth 40 million dollars. Barbar Walters – 150 millions dollars. Robin Roberts 14 mil. Scott Pelley 15 Mil. Rachel Maddow 12 Mil.

Yes, “These images beg the question about the role of those photographers in this incident”. And of course, the photography, from both sides, is incredibly well done. But what is more incredible, is that you are all pretending that you don’t know deep down that this is a staged photographic event put on by yourselves. You people really are sick to be deluding yourselves like this. I’m sure it is not easy for you to sleep at night having to live such a lie. Doubt this will get posted, after all this is Israeli ‘honestreporting . com’… and war is peace and all of that. But will give it a go anyway. Keep up the lie and good luck with living with yourselves.
