Watch out for HR’s next video, Jerusalem: The Media Myth of Two Cities, tentatively scheduled for release on May 18.

Since Jerusalem was reunified in 1967, thousands of Jews, Arabs, and people from around the world walk past the old dividing line. Shopping malls and busy streets have replaced the barbed wire that once split the city in two. Yet the Media stubbornly cling to the notion that there are two separate cities of Jerusalem and that the eastern half, including the Western Wall in the Old City, lacks Jewish legitimacy.

But the history of Jerusalem did not start in 1967. Thousands of years of Jewish history took place in what is now called “Arab East Jerusalem.” Only when the Jewish residents were driven from their homes in 1948 was the city divided between East and West.

The video includes interviews with Jewish refugees from 1948 who were driven out of their homes during the War of Independence.

This video is the first episode in our new series ” A Few Minutes of HonestReporting” where we examine specific issues up close and in detail to see if the media are reporting correctly.
