False Photo Tweet: Badawi’s Cold Correction
March 18, 2012 22:02 by Pesach BensonUnder-secretary general Valerie Amos wrote to Ambassador Ron Prosor that the UN would launch an internal inquiry.
And now Badawi issues this cold correction?

I don’t see any expression of regret or apology here.
I don’t see Badawi taking ownership of her mistake.
What do I see?
A woman whose job is at risk and whose name is discredited.
A woman who thought this would blow over if she laid low.
A woman who knew for a whole week that she was wrong, but was too proud to do the right thing.
Too little.
And way too late.
We hope the growing grassroots momentum forces the UN to take accountability for the actions of its employees. Sign HonestReporting’s petition and join the thousands of people calling for Badawi’s dismissal.

Someone had to take this photo from a blog where it had been for a while and change the caption to claim it was a recent picture.
Diana Alzeer who first tweeted it to fame replied to Avi Mayer that HE was wrong (he was correct). She said it had been taken the previous night by a photographer working for Mohammed Ahman and was sent to the media. She was wrong about that and apologized admitting her mistake.
Miss Badawi, where did you first see this picture? That information is still on your computer. Who told you it was “from the last round of violence” or did you write that information yourself?
Considering the poor little girl actually died from falling off a swing years ago and the photo is credited to Reuters, it’s not too much to ask who changed that to blame the Israelis.

This is a serious misgiving and it’s only right that UN should dismiss this official; if he/she does not resign voluntarily. While this fellow is apologising, it is imperative that in his position, he/she should check and check that all the information they are relaying is accurate and credible. I believe it was a deliberate attempt to disinform the world, hoping no-one will realize that the photo had been presented before. And I strongly believe that this official disgraces the good offices of the United Nations! He should go.

This “apology” does not even make it as a correction. it is written to indicate that this child was the victim of an earlier round of Israeli violence. Rather than correct, it repeats the lie.

I also don’t see her admitting that Israel was in no way responsible for the little girl’s death. To say “it turned out to be from 2006″ implies that the girl died at the hands of Israel, just not in this round of so-called violence. Is she STILL trying to discredit Israel? Guess not all that surprising…

What a lame twit this lady is. Not even close to an apology, and still clinging onto the falsehood that the image was a direct result of Israeli violence.
Hopefully she’ll be out of a job soon. Although with her boss being Navi Pillay, I doubt it’ll happen.

She explained what happened – that should be enough. WHEN ISRAEL EXPLAINS OR ACTUALLY TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL ITS ACTUAL CRIMES SINCE 1948 AND STOPS LOOKING FOR LITTLE MISTAKES LIKE THIS IT WILL LOOK MUCH BETTER IN THE WORLD. ISRAEL STOP PLAYING THE VICTIM. YOU ARE NOT THE VICTIM. ISRAEL HAS NEVER BEEN THE VICTIM. GROW UP AND START PAYING YOUR OWN WAY. STOP WHINING AND KVETCHING.
Hot debate. What do you think?

Any one can make comments without substance- If you wish have a discussion then explain the crimes you talk of-
I take issue with Hamas and its fellow Muslim Brotherhood groups- who live by the laws of Sharia-
That is -Yes in Gaza and the other places ruled by them-
Women can , legally be stoned- Homosexuals can be and are hanged- Apostates , and blasphemers are executed-
And the most recent- And I quote-”"”By: Nicole Jansezian
While the world focused on Hamas militants launching rockets from Gaza at southern Israel, the terrorist organization also voted quietly to implement Islamic law in the Gaza Strip, including crucifixion of Christians, according to reports in the Arabic press.
The traditional Muslim criminal code, known as Sharia law, includes penalties such as amputation of limbs for stealing and the death penalty, including crucifixion, for actions Hamas deems detrimental to “Palestinian interests,” including collaborating with Israel.
The new law was reported on the Al-Arabiya Web site and in the London-based Saudi-owned newspaper Al-Hayat, which wrote that the implementation of Sharia law has “brought criticism and concern from human rights organizations in the Gaza Strip.”
If you are who you make out you are- Then do you wish to compare “Humanities”!
