Hateful Academic Lets Rip at Bibi
March 5, 2012 14:29 by Simon Plosker
Syrian civilians are being murdered on a daily basis. Iran continues its quest for nuclear weapons capability. The Middle East is undergoing a period of unprecedented uncertainty in the wake of the Arab Spring. But for Oxford academic Avi Shlaim, writing in The Independent, there is only one source for all the trouble in the region:
The main threat to regional stability is not Iran but the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. And the main source of hostility towards America throughout the Arab and Muslim lands is Israel’s oppression of the Palestinian people and America’s complicity in this oppression.
In a commentary piece timed to coincide with President Obama’s appearance at AIPAC and his meeting with Israeli PM Netanyahu, perhaps you would be looking for a cogent analysis of the situation. You certainly won’t find it here, however.
Avi Shlaim explodes with a hateful polemic against Benjamin Netanyahu in a manner not even reserved for the Mideast’s most brutal dictators.
Benjamin Netanyahu is a bellicose, right-wing Israeli nationalist, a rejectionist on the subject of Palestinian national rights, and a reactionary who is deeply wedded to the status quo. … he has a selective and self-righteous view of his own country’s history and he is driven by distrust and disdain, if not outright hatred towards the Arabs in general and the Palestinians in particular. This hostility towards Arabs is the central thread that runs through his public utterances, books, and policies as prime minister.
Shlaim attributes to Netanyahu an ideologically driven hatred of Arabs while terming the Israeli coalition government as “the most aggressively right-wing, diplomatically intransigent, and overtly racist government in Israel’s history” and accusing it of being “in danger of drifting towards fascism.” But the real object of Shlaim’s polemic is Netanyahu himself, the “relentless rejectionist” with an “expansionist agenda” who
knowingly and deliberately blocks progress on any of the other ‘permanent status issues’ such as borders and refugees. Netanyahu is not a peace-maker; he is a land-grabber who rides roughshod over Palestinian rights. It is he who has turned the so-called peace process into an exercise in futility. He is like a man who pretends to negotiate the division of a pizza while continuing to gobble it up.

With Jews like Avi “Slime” who needs enemies? Here is a man who parks his behind in an anti-Semitic comfort zone, from which he pontificates his garbage. Another self hating Jew.

Avi.. find me the word Palestine in the days of Abram! Common sense would tell you who YHWH granted this land to. Palestine is just a broken word of the Romans who could not even pronounce Philstines! There were no Palestinians until circa the 67 war of attempted obliteration of this hallowed people. Israel was even named by G-d to Jacob! Get with it.

It appears that there are as many people in Israel who actually hate their own country, as the democrat party in the USA. I have heard so many liberal Jewish people who vote democrat and actually detest the state of Israel. I love Israel and believe that the US can not survive without the Israelis protecting our flanks. What a terror to hear another radical lliberal academic sound off from the comfort of his protected sanctuary.. Please continure to “Act Tough” and “Talk Tough”, because our democrat American leaders will not do so. Thank you, ShirleyAnn

You love Israel? I don’t know an Israeli that ‘loves’ Israel. All the Israeli’s I speak to – from cabbies, to the guy serving me my falafel, to my friends and family – find Israel a difficult, frustrating and complicated place where the best sentiments towards it are generally “I have a love-hate relationship with Israel” to “it’s a difficult place, but it’s our place”. They’ll stick with it, they’ll live here, they’ll die here, they’ll fight for it and they’ll raise their children here, but I don’t know that any of them ‘love’ this place.

I had a 2nd thought on this this morning, one that not all of us can see right away. but imagine that this guy who said these things is really an example of how anyone of us to be if we are not careful to stay out of the mental trap he is in. I dare say anyone one of us could be this guy and what needs to be done is to shlep this guy back into the fold of normal thinking if that could be done. He needs someone to draw him close to the Torah and back to right thinking. Hashem should help this guy who is very far off the path.

As I continued reading replies to the hatred expressed by educated individuals regarding Israel and Jews, one wonders how can we reply to such concealed anti-Semitism. Name calling or denigrating such individuals does not help. We need to examine what possible factors could elicit such behavior.
For Jews to voice hatred of their own people, it is likely to be their self hatred for their inability to like themselves, projected onto their fellow Jews. To cover the shame for their inability to like themselves or their family, they rationalize and look for a means to justify their hate. A good offense is the best defense. They then use their education to attribute their behavior to supporting the underdog. the under-privileged, the freedom-fighters, etc., which idealistic people support.
I am close to 90 years of age, and a retired Psychologist, and I look back to the 1930′s and 1940′s when New York City was full of immigrants. They came believing the streets were full of gold, and it was hard work and education which would give them the life they sought. Being strangers in the land, they worked helping each other, and tried to follow the Torah’s teachings. Being an observant Jew is difficult, and becoming identical in behavior, speech and belief as native Americans, lead to Assimilation as the cure-all. Hitler taught that Assimilation does not work.
Today the message is to return to Israel, the Jewish Homeland. Again the life is more difficult in Israel than in the United States. We need to justify why we do not return to our homeland. For many the life in Israel requires learning a new language, Hebrew. Finding work that pays enough to equal the lifestyle you just left may not be readily available. There are many excuses you can list, but it separates you from those who are dedicated, and ignore the problems. To justify your behavior, you attack the behavior of Israel and its people. Thus, you are more ethical and idealistic so you are justified in pointing out the errors in Jewish behavior, and can continue your good life in Diaspera.

who is this fool, what are his credentials to offer insinuating derogatory garbage against the state of israel that provides a haven to a people that have been persecuted for centuries. How dare he condemn natanyahu who has proven himself. Does this idiot believe that by submitting this garbage he will be accepted by the people that hate jews and him included. Hitler clearly showed us that there was no differentiating between jews when he prodded europe to eradicate the jews of europe. if he has problems a suggestion would be for him to commit suicide with a belt maybe he would be rewarded with 72 virgins

Avi Shlaim, said the Israeli Prime minister is probably: “if not outright hatred towards the Arabs in general and the Palestinians in particular.” Right….. eh… like that will grab the attention of Pro-Netenyahu supporters (sarcastic).
I seriously wish people like Avi Shlaim would actually ask for the opinions of those who attend things such as: ‘PM Netanyahu Speaks at AIPAC Conf. 2012′ in which well over 10,000 supporters attended!
Just love to hear if people who support Israel’s PM, are generally racist bigots… I think Avi Shlaim might “shit himself (surprise)” in finding out that people who strongly support Israel, generally love the Palestinians, and love when Netanyahu said and I quote “A state for two people, a palestinian state alongside a jewish state [U.S. congress (many strong supporters) standing ovation]…

Shlaim is a fool who turns a blind eye to the Palestinians racist genocidal media against Jews.
All Shlaim has to do is go on Palmediawatch.
Avi Shlaim is also an appeaser on defeating Arab terrorism.
Shlaim on Israel killing Sheikh Yassin in 2004.
Lets put exactly what Shlaim said would happen.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2004/mar/28/israel
The decision to execute Yassin has to be seen in this light. Some Ministers and the director of the internal security service opposed the proposal on the grounds that it was illegal and would only increase the violence, but the majority voted in favour.
It transpired that the cabinet decided to eliminate not just Yassin but the entire Hamas leadership in response to the double suicide bombing in the port of Ashdod. This means that Israel will strike at Hamas leaders whenever opportunities present themselves, not only in retaliation. Israeli strikes will be followed, inevitably and inexorably, by Palestinian retaliation with suicide bombs. This is a recipe for violence and bloodshed without any hope. Sharon has truly opened the gates of hell.
To let Shlaim the idiot know, terrorism is down 90% since this mass murderer Yassin was killed.
Shlaim is mad cause this Islamo Nazi Yassin, can no longer give orders to blow up Israeli buses, disco’s and pizzerias.

PA Religious Official Publicly Calls for Genocide of Jews
PA’s principal religious leader presents the killing of Jews by Muslims as a religious Islamic goal.
Elad Benari
1/16/2011
There have been many PA religious and other officials who have openly called for the genocide of the Jews. Jews have been called aids, cancer, apes and pigs by these wicked hatemongers. Poll after poll over the years have shown many Palestinian Arabs support mass murder of Jews in suicide bombings, shootings and other terror attacks.
But dont worry Arabs, this doesn’t bother Avi Shlaim

I think this hate monger should live in either Syria, Iran, or Saudi Arabia to name a few for a while together with his cohort Norman Finkelstein and see how they like it. Thenthey should spend some time in Israel and see just how ill treated the “Palestinians” are as compared with their brethren living in these and other Muslim countries.

Mr. Shlaim is beyond humanity limits. He is a hateful snake with a poor, short mind. He is a free sample of a severe epidemic disease. But the association of academia Commies and the majority of the main stream media, with Nazi Islamics against Israel and Jews is becoming radioactive.Today it is too obvious, so now is impossible not to see it. And people begun to noticed the stink. Their network is the Open Society one, Media Matters, and dozens of manipulative washing brains organizations of G.Soros who is putting his money where his mouth is. He pays, this is his poison against Israel, the Jews and America. We need to understand and stand up!

Efraim Karsch in his book “Fabricating Israeli History” demonstrates all the lies Shlaim invented on israeli history just so he could sell more books (Europeans just adore israelis who turn their back on their country) . He’s not a seriuos academic and uses the archives in a manner that suits his purpose. Unfortunately he’s not mad, he knows he’s a liar which makes him more dangerous.
His agenda is: the more you hate Israel the more you earn

Incidentally there is a “W” in Hebrew – the vav was a “w” in Bible if not Mishnaic times even as the taff was originally a “th” as in English the and Spanish “z”.
We are not here to bother too much about Avi shlainm or even Obama but to discuss what has to be done to manage the situation.

You’re all trying to understand where this hateful human garbage coming from.
Take Hitler, his father was Jew; take Loyola from ill-fame Spanish Inquisition,
who was partly Jew, to dissociate themselves from Jews, they committed unprecedented
massacre of Jewish people.
Take Kissenger who didn’t even hide he detested Jews & Israel. All these well established
Jews in the States, often from mixed marriages do behave according to the same pattern.

Yea… yeaaa… But more important is now to understand whose money is behind the leftist, antisemitic intellectuals. Take George Soros, his parents were Jews under the Nazi regime in Hungary! Interesting is to know his mother however had a visceral hate toward Jewish and his father asked a Hitler officer to take the 14 years old boy to work… What learned the little snake to do as enjoyable activity? He helped his Nazi adoptive father to make a list of those Jews properties to steal everything from them!!! Now George says recognize how much fun (literally), that was the most happier time of his life, he enjoyed taking the values from Jews… He was a good Kapo Now he put money in Jewish leftist organizations an other as lures, to make others think he is not antisemitic… Well he explain that Israel needs to be destroy, as USA because the freedom of both, are an impeachment for him to grab power of his New World Order! Be aware!!! Open your eyes and also pay attention listening to all of them…They share same goals than Islamic they work together. He is behind Mr Omama, the Occupy movements all over the world, the bias of main stream media, Media Matters and all those organizations/network pretending to be interested in human rights, environment, or whatever could they use as a tool to gain more power…( JStreet and many other, by instance…)

There are many like Shlaim who incomprehensibly wish for Israel to disappear as a sovereign state, and are ready to spread any amount of lies to convince the world that were that to happen, they please be spared, as they wave their published opinons for proof that they hated the israeli government more than the arabs themselves did. Behind such cowardly behaviour, lies on the one hand fear and on the other, greed.
