Of curse there is!!…..the palestinians feel the world attention is focused on Libya, Yemen, Egipt, Japan, etc., and nobody talks about the “poor palestinians”, so they must do something to atract attention, and what can they do?….the only thing they know how to do: TERROR.

Alberto, I agree with you that they feel what they’re doing is right, but that doesn’t prevent them from being terrorists, and that doesn’t prevent me from feeling that dialogue is impossible with people who officialy wish to commit genocide against us.

That’s highly unlikely, Alberto. The UN is used so much as a platform against Israel that if they could have done anything that severe they would have done it long ago. At the moment I’m afraid we owe our survival to the US (and its permanent spot on the security council), because otherwise a resolution requesting that we, to quote Helen Thomas, “get the hell out of Palestine”, would have surely been passed long ago.

Thanks Allyson, but it doesn’t take a lot of brains to see the reality of the situation. No terror attacks in many months and just now a coward killing of 5 inocents, launching of rockets and a bomb in Jerusalem; how convenient to take the media attention away from Japan or Libya, and the worst part is that the media is falling for it and, as allways, blame Israel because “the building of settlements”. Arabs build rockets and Israelis build apartments; same thing???

That’s an interesting question. It could be that the leaders of Hamas are afraid that the unrest might spread to Gaza. They definitely have a good reason to be afraid, given how they treat their people. And nothing’s better at winning the people’s unquestioning support than war. It’s been demonstrated many times, and if Hamas doesn’t mind murdering its own people, it definitely won’t mind getting into a war with Israel if that’s what is needed to stay in power.

Israeli residents should begin investing in personal long range assault weapons. Each time a resident of Gaza sends a missile into their neighborhood, they should each return the gesture. Problem is the Israeli government is always blamed by the UN and anti-Israel states and entities whereas they do not fault the efforts of civilians. If this is the way the world chooses to view things, then let us pit those Palestinian citizens who attack Israel against those Israeli citizens who simply return the gesture and leave the Israeli government out of it?
Surely, when the UN tells Israel to prevent its citizens from attacking Gazans, the Israeli government can promise to to be equally as supportive of such a measure as their Gaza neighbor government clamps down on their citizens.

Hamas may be hoping to instigate another Operation Cast Lead, which would wipe every other Middle East story off the front page (and probably Japan too). Those Palestinians are like little children who need lots of attention – dangerous children – psychotic children.

the enemies of Israel have effectively learned to use the media to their advantage.
A reporter on Cnn reported the bombing thusly; Israel has been stating it is the only stable government in the middle east .This bombing proves then wrong”
How dare they even suggest or compare the government of israel to what is happening in .Egypt or Lybia etc.
If the bomb had exploded in the United States or England or France or Spain, the media would have called it an act of terrorism.
The purpose of the Palestinians is to use the media to try and show Isreal not as the stong secure Democratic state it is but as one that is in danger of being overthrown.
That is why Netanatu issued his stong statement about the people ans stability of Isreal

Hamas wants to keep Palestinians’s mind occupied so they don’t think about revolting and the only way is to tell them about the bombing in Israel and Gaza and the fighting in the rest of the middle east. That should keep them busy and not think about their problems. Plus the repression they hold over Gazans with their police helps keeps them in line.

Of course there is a connection, however, the Gazans haven’t yet the courage to rise up aginst Hamas because they know the U.S. (although maybe) won’t help them as they did in Libya and certainly the Israelis will not come to their aid. So they are between a rock and a hard place and the preferred conduct is to lob Grad missiles and rockets into Southern Israel (proper), force us into shelters, and to send the misguided into central Jerusalem to instill fear and kill and maim innocents, i.e., conduct terrorist actions against the citizens of the soverein State of Israel. (The central Jerusalem bombing was terrorism and nothing less.)

Rachel…..I am not so sure Israel won’t help the palestinians to revolt against hammas, and I can assure you many palestinians in Gaza want Israel’s help to get rid of the murderers. Israel is already helping Gaza a lot with water, power and other supplies, but the media doesn’t say that. I have seen palestinians telling their story and admiting they were wrong by voting for hammas and they lived a lot better when they could cross to work in Israel.

of course there’s a connection, but its NOT a simple ‘grab the headlines back from egypt, libya etc’. on the part of the militant palestinians…esp Hamas.
Instead ,its a desire by Hamas ( and to a lesser extent the militants linked to the PA)to redirect internal , and increasingly vocal, palestinian dissent against the Hamas vs PA factionalism to the universal “common enemy” of israel …..and if Israel responds with ‘cast lead #2″ ( no matter how morally justified) that Hamas tactic will succeed, especially on the global pr front.

It is obvious that it is part of a well organised plan. All actions fit together. The Arabs are planning a complete surrounding of Israel with the intention to wipe it off the face of the earth. Psalm 83 is on the way, and so Moshiach.

Chess is a Persian game where the King is the game and every other piece is expendable.
The Arab/Muslim leaders (Arafat/Abbas, Sadam Hussain, Gadhaffi, the Iatollahs and Imams) incite their flock to hatred and Jihad. To them, their followers lives are worth nothing but a useful resource to kill their enemy, the Jews/Israel.
The Media in the middle east has a choice, they can either present the Arab slant or the can be kidnapped/tortured/raped/killed like Zarah Kazemi and others. Combine this pressure with blatant antisemitism/anti-Israel prejudice and the sham goes on.

If for nothing else, the PLO may have thought that their voices and atrocies deeds got of the
Headlines. For them those headlines are important if for nothing else , just to keep a demand
alive.
Unfortunately they realized that they have NO REAL legal DEMANDS at all on the M.E.
Politics.
Let me remind you, When Israel was declared in 1948 they had equal rights to declare a Palestinian State, next to Israel, they did not accept the UN offer,.In my opinion they lost all their claim, even though Israel handed Gaza over to them invited them to talk about the West Bank. They refused. The Palestinians through their own Leadership fault remained Stateless, hence they are demanding that The Territory which is ISRAEL should theirs.
NEVER, Israel is there to stay, as a JEWISH STATE. When the UN voted and established the Territory to be the Jewish State, they refused it. They missed their chances, Israel is sorounded by ARAB Countries, Some very rich, If they could demonstrate to their Arab brothers that they are a peace full people, maybe they could Migrate into those Arab Countries, Australia accepted a few, and a few are in Australian Jails for promoting terror, NO COUNTRY SHOULD BE ASKRED TO ACCEPT TERRORIST
