Israeli Government Video Irks Palestinians

July 28, 2011 13:56 by

Congratulations to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon for taking the initiative in the vital battleground of social media.

Ayalon’s YouTube video “The Truth About the West Bank” is evidently considered to be such a threat to the distorted Palestinian historical narrative that Saeb Erekat (who still appears to be the chief Palestinian negotiator despite resigning from the position in February 2011) has responded by publicly condemning the video in no uncertain terms.

Here’s your chance to help Israel online.

It’s really simple – click on the video and watch as Danny Ayalon explains the status of the West Bank. In September the Palestinian Authority plans to tie Israel up in legal knots at the UN with an appeal for statehood in the West Bank and Gaza based on the 1948 armistice line (commonly and misleadingly referred to as the “1967 borders”).

Wherever you are on the political map, it’s time that the world is reminded of Israel’s historical and legal rights as well as how Israel found itself in control of the disputed territories.

By simply clicking on this video or sharing it on social media platforms such as Facebook, you won’t just be reminding your own friends and friends of Israel of the facts. You will also be promoting this material “beyond the choir” to the millions of people who browse YouTube and know nothing of the Israeli narrative.

Evidently, the Palestinians find it difficult when Israel reasserts its rights in the face of the assault on the country’s legitimacy. According to the PA press release:

With this video, the Israeli government has left no doubt on its pro-conflict agenda. Now, the international community knows the Israeli government is committed to denying the Palestinian people their inalienable right to self-determination and on continuing their illegal and colonial enterprise in the occupied Palestinian territory”, said Dr. Saeb Erakat.

Dr. Erakat said this video, presented by the Israeli deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Danny Ayalon, denies the validity of UN resolutions and claims that the illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are a legitimate part of Israel. He added, “This is not an amateur video prepared by an extremist group. An official representing the State of Israel presents a cynical and falsified account of history and international law.

Dr. Erakat continued: “In its desperate attempt to gear international discourse away from the pursuit of genuine peace to the outdated arguments of those who oppose it, this official video went as far as discarding United Nations Resolution 181 (II).” “I want to remind the government of Israel that it was accepted at the UN as a full member based on its acceptance of this resolution” said Dr. Erakat.

Danny Ayalon

In reaction to the condemnation, Ayalon said: “For too long the Palestinian narrative of international law and rights has gone unchallenged and this over the top reaction to a public diplomacy video proves that they are acting like spoilt children who have had their way for too long. They are unable to challenge a single fact in the video and have completely avoided a legitimate and honest discussion on the issues.

In the press release, Erekat claims that Israel was accepted to the United Nations on the basis of UN General Assembly Resolution 181. “This false claims shows that Erekat misconstrues international law and its system proving exactly how misguided the Palestinian attempt to have their unilaterally declared state recognized at the United Nations really is. Israel was admitted as a full United Nations member in 1949 by United Nations General Assembly Resolution 273, after a recommendation by the Security Council, because it met the criteria of statehood and signed armistice agreements with our neighbors, something the Palestinians should bear in mind before they further their confrontational and damaging plan towards September.

Help us to help Israel get the facts out. Spread this video and make a difference.

Honest and good video. However, it misses an important point that needs to be stated. Simply, Jordan is the true so called “Palestinian Arab” home. Meaning any Arab living in the so called “disputed territory” belongs in Jordan! That is why Jordan was created by the British in the first place. There should be no disputed territories based on this simple fact!

This video should have been made and disseminated years ago. The term “occupied territory” has been around far too long. In any event, it is a well done effort and I hope it helps clarify discussions related to land beyond the green line.

This video had to be done many years ago, it is clear and indisputable
A video like that creates serious identity problems in the mind of many Philistines, that is why they are angry, the video kills their base for a fight, their base for an identity
They are homeless in their mind now.

If you want to irk someone all you have to do is tell the truth. Maybe we should call them Hadrian-ites-after all, Hadrian changed the name as an insult to the Jewish residents-their forefathers had already been there for centuries. Pat Boone said it best: “God Gave this Land to Me.” You knew the something was distorted when they gave Arafat the Nobel Peace Prize.

A very good video that uncovers the truth about the history of this conflict. It should be widely distributed to news agencies and interested groups around the world. A similar misconception about the so-called Palestinian refugee issue should be the next video project of the Israeli government. It should be combined with the very sad tale of the Arab governments’ shameful treatment of its Mizrachi Jewish minority and how they became refugees. Unlike the Arab governments who use the Palestinian cause as a weapon against Israel, Israel immediately repatriated it’s Mizrachi brothers enriching Israel immeasurably.

I’m much more disturbed by the fact that pro-Israel Jeffrey Goldberg, on his own blog, seems equally irked by this long overdue video.

Of course this video would upset the Arabs that are currently known as ‘Palestinians’. Their whole existence is a lie and is based on lies. So therefore. the truth upsets them. Plain and simple. End of story. Anyone who attempts to dispute the validity of this video is a bald-face liar. Oddly enough, These Arab Palestinians have so indoctrinated themselves into a culture of lies, based on a ‘foundation’ of lies, that they don’t know anything else. You know what we call people like this who think they know things, but really don’t? Idiots! Yup, they’re idiots.

I will comment on the video from Israeli government by giving you G-d’s own record of ha eretz:

2 Samuel 5:7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

Psalms 69:35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.

Psalms 129:5 Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

Isaiah 14:32 What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.

    G-D is a Zionist and a JEW (Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 9:5) ??? ????????, ?????-???, ????-???????.

Unfortunately, Israeli P.R. has been too low on their list of priorities. This type of information should have been made public years ago.

If this is true – and it would be nice to believe it – then somebody explain why Jordan chose to do such a poor job of caring for the refugee “Palestinians” who are in their country? And for those in refugee camps for almost 100 years in other countries. While tiny Israel has spent enormous energy to bring Jewish refugees from all over the world into their little country, giving them whatever they needed to become productive citizens, none of the Arab countries have helped their own displaced countrymen. I am not arguing here about whether or not there “should” have been refugees, or why those that ran away with (or without) reason did so … the point is that in any war there are going to be refugees, and they have to be settled someplace so that they and their families can start new lives. Only THESE refugees, however, have been kept in camps for so many years ……. if Jordan is their homeland, then all these people should be Jordanian citizens, and they should have been resettled many years ago, to the profit of all. This has not happened. I feel bad for the Palestinians if that is the kind of “homeland” they got stuck with.

this is a great explanation of the situation in the so called west bank, i think Israel and any organization and individual that cares about the truth should spend the next $1 billion to run this video on a daily basis on national TV in the states and Europe.
and i am willing to put my money where my feelings are.

Now that they’ve lost three wars of annihilation, they want the 1947 resolution back? The resolution they rejected? When is “off the table” actually off the table? That’s like the guy who used to bum cigarettes from me at university and punched me when I told him I’d loaned him enough. Then he came and apologized and asked for another smoke. Guess what I told him: “Never again.”

If it’s annoying the PA, to the extent they are issuing press releases about it, this video is being effective. Hopefully the PA’s response will give it even more publicity and widespread viewing.

Let’s have some more myth-busting from the Israeli government soon.

before starting negotiations – why not learn about hudna and deception in islam. then you won’t keep making the same mistakes as in the past.

#1. moslems do not keep their word, their peace treaties, cease fires, or any agreement. They believe in deception and ‘smooth talk’ but turn around and will break any agreement they make. The only honor in islam is based on what their property’s vagina is doing – and even then it just depends on the mood of the moslem.

#2. If a moslem does keep his word, he is probably a secular moslem, but keep in mind that once he is dead, or changes his mind – the agreed upon issue will be broken by moslems.

Israel needs to be more vocal about the facts. That is the way to gain respect and support- not by pandering, apologizing, and compromising. Thank you Mr. Ayalon- may this be the first in a new era of truthful and thoughtful PR for the miraculous state of Israel.

Yes of course that is the truth – anyone of the least integrity recognises that. Unfortunately we are dealing with a religio-political abomination called Islam, born out of the deepest deceptions and kept alive by it’s main source of sustenance – malignant hatred of humanity, including it’s own self- hatred.
This hatred has always found it’s sharpest focus in a pathological and murderous loathing of all things Israeli/Jewish, against which all rational and reasoned debate is smoke in the wind.
The video might just persuade some of the more moderate western liberal apologists for Islam, that perhaps they were hoodwinked after all – but it won’t even begin to dilute the sea of anti-semitic bigotry and hatred in the Arabic middle east.

The fact that they call themselves “Palestinians” is understandable – one more lie, so what? But it doesn’t fail to bother me that we, of all people, also call them Palestinians! We’re just playing into their hands! And if it’s so difficult to call them or write about them using the term Arabs, at least say or write: so called “Palestinians”

Show them also http://www.malariainpalestine.com . It is uncomfortable watching for a Palestinian. It appears non-political, but is in fact anything but non-political, and I have had suggested that it goes to the very core of the middle east problem.

(The only criticism I have had – and it has been seen by audiences hostile to Israel – that I called the Jews ‘pioneers’!!!)
