Johann Hari to Be Stripped of Orwell Prize

Now the Orwell Prize people are piling on Johann Hari. The Independent’s columnist was stripped of his 2008 award in the wake of plagiarism accusations.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the Orwell Prize Council is delaying its announcement till after the Indy’s own investigation is complete. The paper already suspended Hari pending the outcome of that.

At least Hari’s not accused of phone hacking. That’s a separate media scandal for the Brits to sort out . . .
