6:18 pm Here’s the video of the tweet I just posted. Throwing rocks from behind an ambulance is so macho.

6:01 pm: The Druze residents of Majdal Shams have convinced the last Syrians to return home. According to the Jerusalem Post, the Golan village is now returning to normal.

5:55 pm: Now that Abbas is in bed with Hamas, I wonder how he explains to skeptical Israelis Ismail Haniyeh’s latest comments:

“Palestinians mark the occasion this year with great hope of bringing to an end the Zionist project in Palestine,” Ismail Haniyeh, the prime minister of the Hamas government in Gaza, told about 10,000 people at a Gaza City mosque.

5:39 pm: Here’s a video of a Palestinian firing flares at Israeli soldiers at the Qalandiya checkpoint.

5:23 pm: This is just rich. Syria calls the IDF’s handling of the border breach “criminal.” Here’s what comes to mind when I think of the words “Syria” and “criminal.”

4:52 pm: Two terror experts believe Assad’s behind the border breach.

What could be better for Assad than diverting the people’s anger from himself towards Israel. I wouldn’t put it beyond the range of the possible that he recruited people to cross the border in order to shift the pressure to Israel,” said Moghadem.

• Just got word from the IDF that thousands of Syrians have breached the border. Dozens of people injured are being cared for in area hospitals. Media reports say four dead in the chaos on the Israeli side. Not clear what the casualty figures are on the Syrian side of the border.

Some Israeli officials blame Iranian meddling. I wouldn’t put it past the Syrian government to allow something like this. Assad’s killed 801 people to crush the uprising against his rule, so what’s four more if it’ll take pressure off him?

AP is already declaring this morning’s Tel Aviv rampage an accident, though the second half of the snippet is a helluva qualifier.

In a reflection of the jitters, a deadly traffic accident involving an Arab truck driver in Tel Aviv set off fears that an attack had been carried out.

The truck plowed through a crowded street, crashing into a bus, several cars and pedestrians, killing one and injuring 16 others. Police said the 22-year-old driver claimed it was an accident, but said they were still investigating.

Memo to Ibrahim Barzak: Only write what you know.

• The family of Milad Ayyash refused to allow an autopsy on their teenage son. Ayyash was shot during a street clash in Silwan.

• Meanwhile, tens of thousands of SMS messages were sent out to Palestinians around the West Bank telling everyone to get ready for a new intifada.
