I suppose your not completely wrong- Remembering that at the end of Passover one alaways used to say “Next year in Jerusalem”- So there is a religious part to it-
However remembering that pre 67 Jerusalem was divided- So after that year there was certainly a reason to move the capital from Telaviv.

In a word, NO.
# Lord, in keeping with all Your righteous acts, may Your anger and wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the injustices of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become an object of ridicule to all those around us.
# Daniel 9:25
Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince will be seven weeks and 62 weeks. It will be rebuilt with a plaza and a moat, but in difficult times.
# Joel 2:32
Then everyone who calls on the name of Yahweh will be saved, for there will be an escape for those on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, as the LORD promised, among the survivors the LORD call.
# Joel 3:1
[ Judgment of the Nations ] Yes, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
# Joel 3:6
You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks to remove them far from their home.
# Joel 3:16
The LORD will roar from Zion and raise His voice from Jerusalem; heaven and earth will shake. But the LORD will be a refuge for His people, a stronghold for the Israelites.
# Joel 3:17
[ Israel Blessed ] Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who dwells in Zion, My holy mountain. Jerusalem will be holy, and foreigners will never overrun it again.

It has come to the point where we have to ask the question, WHY??. Our Congress has passed this resolution some time ago and President after President has found a loophole in order to get out of following through and keeping their word and indeed our word to move our embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Well now, from what I understand several lawmakers are closing these loopholes, so I have to wonder what new excuse will this or any other President have.
Gentlemen, like it or not, Jerusalem is the one and only Eternal Capitol of Israel and as David Ben Gurion said when called to testify before a British commission and asked what legal claim Israel had to the Land, “Here is my authority” and placed The Book, The Old Testament, The Tanach (I hope I spelled that right) which he carried on the table. Maybe Israel should follow his example since common sense or simple logic does not seem to reach the hearts & minds of the leadership of our nation.

President Obama, is doing Himself a great disservice. He does not see the repercussions of his decision immediately, but, his stubbornness in catering to what he holds to be “victimized Arabs in Israel,” is having the opposite effect that he intends. President Obama has a deep heart and seems to experience compassion for unfortunate peoples. Common Sense, and the Knowledge of Facts should supersede “heart-felt” judgments. In the long-run, The President can only be confronted with this unwise decision. The “Leaders,” and “Players” responsible for the”Generational Arab Refugee Camps mess” utterly refusing to be accountable, to take responsibility for their “manipulations,” in creating this horrendous responsibility for millions of Arabs, living as stateless “beasts.” The responsibility for this state of affairs lies squarely in Arab Leadership, and Arab countries who are REFUSING to integrate, educate, and claim this HUMAN BEINGS, as co-religionists should. Israel, is simply NOT responsible for resolving ARAB ISSUES.
It would take IMMENSE COURAGE, WILL POWER,, and DETERMINATION, to address these heart-sickening issues properly. Everyone seems to have forgotten that without HONESTY, RESPECT, and COMMITMENT to FACTUAL HISTORY, Justice can not be done, and is being PERVERTED.
Justice is Screaming with rage, at the irresolute, distortions, and determination of leaders to focus on “posturing” and “feelgood” self-righteousness, while elderly people, children, and young adults squander their Innate life force in the squalor of filthy, disease ridden refugee lifestyles.
It would behoove, leaders who can, to focus on actually DOING something, and this requires BEING JUST, and ACCEPT the FACTS of History, in order to enable Justice to prevail TRUE Justice – not the justice of sound-bytes, self-righteous indignation against the Jewish State, and Jews. The World knows very clearly that a lot of people, countries, organizations and powerful people do not like Jews, would like to see Israel destroyed etc. etc. These aforementioned individuals are willing to see millions of refugees who should have been REPATRIATED to ARAB countries, live as non-beings.
If any leader needs the COURAGE to incorporate INTEGRITY, HONESTY, and COMMITMENT to Human Rights, and STOP politicking with the lives of vulnerable HUMAN BEINGS, in an effort to delegitimize Israel and the Jewish Peoples. WE are not going away, and Israel, will simply not be destroyed, nor given away, piecemeal, to satisfy the hatred of anti-semites and stubborn-minded appeasers.
On the other hand, People are suffering when there is no need, and that is an obscene crime. The monies spent on showing the world the “ills” which Israel is “guilty of” should be used to close the refugee camps, and settle Arabs in the countries they are in.
There must be a return to Justice, Justice which can only be exercised, TRUE, Sincere, Living, for all those involved in this mess.
It would take a Homoungous amount of dedication to true Justice, Living Justice, Sincere belief in healing broken humans and their lives, to take on Arab countries, their leadership, and the “Billions of monies,” donated to corrupt individuals big on their importance, status, relevance, and misplace authority, to revert this mess back in to the hands of the Just.
So far, in our generation, the challenge for a Figure whose colossal moral fiber supersedes self-interest, to come to the forefront and start the process of HONESTY, is lacking.
The challenge, in my view, is for those in power to assume accountability to the Higher good – that illusive Justice, which so far is determinedly ignored. Where is Lincoln’s Brother, Dr. Martin Luther King’s, Thomas Jefferson’s, Robert Kennedy’s???
All that seems to exist in our world, are dedicated politburo types, dedicated to the image of themselves – never mind the facts. It is so much easier, to hire a “flotilla,” and violate Israeli Territory, blast the Liberal Democracy which is Israel, Threaten Jews, Slander, Defame Jews, Blame Israel for EVERYTHING, while the FACTS are ignored, in favour of propaganda.
I think that concern for TRUE, LIVING Justice is lacking in this world, by its leaders, an obscenity unworthy of the values of governance. True, LIVING Justice should matter more than the sheer determination to hang on to solipsistic logic, favouring one’s opinion. Justice will not be done, while those who have the actual capacity for Greatness, true vibrant historical impact, have sided with cowards, liars, indifferent callous immoral beings who care only for themselves.

“In the long-run, The President can only be confronted with this unwise decision.”
Essentially, two direct outcomes will prevail, in my view.
The President will regrettably continue on this path, under the misguided notions that applying compassion to a situation which merits rigourous honesty and defiant determination to exact accountability from the appropriate source of the pornographic suffering that the “stateless” Arab populations in refugee camps are deliberately forced to live, likewise the UNCONSCIONABLE deliberate, systematic inculcation of hatred, distress, dis-empowerment, and propagandist machinations (a la nazi style) which cynically holds Jewry and the Liberal Democratic State of Israel as being responsible for anything and everything that is being essentially forced upon said populations. This unacceptable state of affairs, has reduced the Arab Refugee Peoples to being wounded pawns in sick global posturings whose ends, can only once again be the attempt to destroy Jews.
As Jewish History has shown, repeatedly, those who are directly involved in playing with the lives of others, and causing inhumane life to be destroyed and tormented, will evade human Justice, however, A Higher Justice seems to step in, and when it does, historical narrative will shred every humananly constructed artifice to reveal the emptiness and voided relevance that is “opinion.” In the process, Countries suffer, and still as Humans, we refuse to learn our Basic lesson – we are a FAMILY – the HUMANS – no exception. What causes harm to one of “us” does so to all of us.
In my view, very very regrettably, “leaders,” who depend on their power, and that of more powerful than themselves, and build their house of decisions based less on factual reality, than fanciful outpourings of misplaced empathy, can only court disaster. (why would anyone have empathy for Arab States, and Leaders who enable Arab refugees to be condemned to unthinkable “lives” simply to show the world that the Justice of the “powerful, Well connected, and well off,” is all that matters, is unimpeachable, infallible, and not subject to scrutiny, accountability, and factual evidence?? So, disaster will come a visiting.
The Second choice, is for a groundswell of Righteous Human beings to protest, write, speak up, insist on honesty as a very relevant value which enables Justice to live, society to flourish, and Human life to evolve. The Powerful in our world should be reminded, constantly, that Justice is necessary and that means Honesty, and the reliance on such to dictate choices. True Justice will actually make the wealthy wealthier, the powerful, more powerful, and raise up the oppressed in our world.
The onus is on individuals of influence to come to the realization that living Justice is impossible where hatred of ANY peoples, either covert or overt, is used to achieve one’s ends. Living Justice is a choice that is in our faces, and seemingly, people are siding with the illusion that including antisemitism and hatred of others can be rationalized since one “feels” compassion and empathy for suffering. Actually, Living Justice demands a much higher standard from those who would lead countries, Peoples, and human life.
I have no answer, It is utterly sad to observe that dishonesty is now considered a sterling quality, distortion of facts acceptable when buttressing untenable, destructive elements and currents within human life, and the will to genocide an avaricious “god” blatantly worshiped supported and defended by those who do know better.

By way of example-
The one expert who gave evidence to the Goldstone report was, as has already been mentioned, the British Colonel Richard Kemp- Who said that “No other army in the world did more to avoid civilian casualties than the IDF during Cast Lead”.
He was ignored-
Being British one would have thought that his judgement would have carried weight with the UK media and politicians- To the contrary, both in the media and in the UK parliament -Israel is condemned as the civilian killing aggressor.
So you are right in the respect of changing the mindset there appears to be no answer.
The rebirth of Israel occurred not just because it had the legitimacy of the Balfour Declaration and then the United Nations. It happened because the Hebrews fought a war and won. Can anyone honestly think, with hindsight, that if they had lost that war in 1948 there would be an Israel today.
So it would appear that Israel has but one answer. To remain strong- To use its expertise as only it knows how, to survive.

Very True, Israel’s moral fiber has enabled it to prevail against unspeakable odds. Where else in this world, have children become accustomed to gather in cellars, as missiles rained down upon cities? Yet, which writer, leader, influential person has publically stood up and dared point out that the attempted murder of others, due to one’s opposition to the existence of a Liberal Democratic State is an affront to suppressed, oppressed, and now, murderous regimes, surrounding it?
i have read that nihilistic currents and evil contains within itself, its own demise, and so it will be shown. Israel survives, for it truly is the heart of our Human Family, and is now established and growing as it should. If only people could realize that all humans truly evolve by reason of one source – regardless of personal inclination- whether it is atheism, agnosticism, and traditional belief system – the monotheistic religions, the eastern traditions etc., then perhaps human suffering and distress could be reduced immensely.
However, the quest for Utopia, is a centuries old experiment which has caused utter chaos and disarray. The most seemingly that can be done at this point is to resist the genocide and destruction of human life, in order to manage seemingly impossible issues. It is unfortunate that otherwise intelligent individuals refuse to consider that their very own values, opinions and baser instincts are directly responsible for our state of affairs.

Well, after vating for him, I have concluded Obama is another spineless grandstander looking for leadership image without substance. He is another in a long line of presidents who go easy on Saudi Arabia while in office, and then get millions for a quickie speech tour to S.A. as a reward for leaving the corrupt family in place. If national security were a real issue for him, and not just frothy talk, we would be taking our port security at least somewhat seriously, and not winking while looking the other way. We would tell the Palestinians that they once had a country – Jordan, but their own brothers don’t want them. And we would not be spending hundreds of millions training and arming the Palestinian Authority police to suppress democracy in their territory with some of it, and propping up a corrupt Abbas with the rest of it, like we did for Arafat. Obama is just playing the Arabist shill game like all presidents did, except maybe for G. W. Bush during his first six years. Then he, too, drank the Kool-Aid.

Obama received a large amount of money from Arab “sponsors” for his presidential campaign and he seems to have never lost his Moslem faith and allegience.Besides, we must remain realistic. The US has a dubious record vis-a-vis Jews and Israel. Before the holocaust the US introduced immigration quotas to keep Jews away from America.Roosevelt had no sympathies for Jews and arranged with ibn Saud not to support the creation of a Jewish state on “Arab” territories.True, the US recognized Israel in May 1948 …but imposed arms embargo which in view of Israel’s encirclement was tantamount to a death sentence.Later it did support Israel but I have the impression that it was not because of paricular love for Israel but out of hostility towards the USSR. The son of a 1948 freedom fighter Yakov Barger once told me that his father vehemently hated the British and greatly distrusted the Americans. He used to say roughly so :”They will abandon us the moment abandoning Israel will be in their ‘national interests’ and this may happen sooner than we can imagine.” I think the only wisdom history teaches to Jews is that if Israel can’t defend them, no one else will do that.In short, Obama’s decision not to anger his Arab sponsors and Moslems worldwide should surprise no one.

We must take into account that Obama’s views and objectives are not the same as Israel’s and the Jewish populace. If his goal is to form allegences with the Arab countries as well as Israel, then it would exacerbate the political tensions with Arab countries and we all know how hot-headed Arab responses can be. I definitely want the US embassy in Jerusalem, but I can see how President Obama may not.

In all fairness, I read comments all across the web concerning the first axing of embassy act by Obama and seriously people have short memories. Sometimes I think this is more about Obama than the seriousness of what axing the embassy act is all about. Anyway, President Bush made a campaign promise prior to first election that in his first week of office he would sign embassy act. He left office 8 years later not signing it. This was a promise from a friend. Truly, I did not expect anything from Obama let alone he would sign the embassy act. Nor did I expect any kind of promise that he would. However, I expected more out of Bush because of the perception, (false as I came to realize) that he, President Bush was a true friend of Israel. Now looking back he never once stated Jerusalem was the undivided capital of Israel. Sadly, during those 8 years if there would have been half as much outrage and articles written by conservative hierarchy, I think that would have forced him into signing the embassy act prior to leaving office. Furthermore, on the anniversary ceremonies of the reunification of Jerusalem the Bush administration did not even send a low lever representative as a courtesy to Jerusalem. In the end, the Bush administration did not even acknowledge the event.
Friends, we came to this place down a very long road. Each president ABUSES the lie that the embassy can not be moved to Jerusalem because of ‘national security.’ This as we know is the biggest falsehood for across the world there are US embassies in the most dangerous of capitals. Israel is the only country on the planet without an embassy in her capital. So what does that tell the world? Jerusalem IS NOT THE UNDIVIDED CAPITAL OF ISRAEL. Bottom line, if our friends do not stand with us what can we expect from openly hostile friends?
We are in deep trouble. Silence is deadly. When will we learn partisan politics always comes back to haunt us? As for the outrage over Abbas having this sham of a marriage with Hamas, what do you expect? Remember, Abbas is a known denier of the Holocaust. He is a terrorist when post 9-11 he incubated terror as we well know from the intifada. Yet when all was said and done our good friend in the White House took this evil man and turned him into a MAN OF PEACE. Our anger should be inward for the silence we had then for our outrage could have made a real difference. Now our anger is toward
Obama who is not hearing our pleas because he chooses not to.
Friends and foes have kicked us in the a*s, treating us like the black sheep of the world or truly, like a cheap whore when in fact we are a beacon of truth and freedom and justice and incredible innovation which gives back to the world a million times more than the world has ever given us.

While I agree with much of what you say, I cry ‘unfair’ to the last bit! I am a Christian friend of Israel and pray for her every day – I can categorically say I have never kicked you in the ‘whatsit’ and never would. I know Israel has many so-called friends who are friends only when it suits them and this makes me as angry as it does you, please don’t lump us all together with them. And if I may just remind you, the only Embassy in Jerusalem is the International Christian Embassy – and it is staying put!

I agree that the United States should recognize Jerusalem as the Capitol of Israel and move its embassy there. But because this would be so ‘provocative’ after so many years of not doing it, I
would prefer to see it done, not alone, but with a package of other and long overdue ‘provocative’ acts.
For instance, do it along with the statement that the US will no longer actively work for a Palestinian State until a majority of Arab States agree to recognize Israel and set up formal diplomatic relations. This is important because I believe their failure to do that amounts to condoning terrorism, and provides an incentive for rejectionists to maintain their veto power over any terms of peace that Israel could accept, or that the US should ask them to accept.
As part of the same package, I would add the statement that there is a chance there will never be a Palestinian State because of the impossible threshold positions the Palestinian have on a ‘right to return’, and calling for the re-division of Jerusalem. It’s amazing to me that no top US official, or preferably a President, has not at least said, “Of course there is a possibility there may never be a Palestinian State and we may have to think about what to do if that turns out [as I think it long since has] to be true.”
The US might also add, since Jerusalem is the only or chief holy site to Jews, and Jerusalem is the third holy site to Moslems, why should that third site of importance to Islam trump the primary site of religious significance to Jews? (I’ve never heard this thought expressed or question asked).
All of these things, much more than simply moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem, would operate to returning the ‘goal posts’ of discusssion back to some relation to reality rather remaining in the surreal fantasy land of pretending that a Palestinian State is anywhere on the horizon. Ron Thompson

You know there is something about Islam that scares the pants off the Western and East European world.
Even when Stalin was closing down the Judaic/Christian synagogues and churches and turning them into Museums he was promoting the building of mosques in the USSR Muslim enclaves.
That “Aryan race” must rule the world, monster Hitler- who thought anyone other than they were less than human- told his “Butchers” to leave the Muslims of Europe alone.
And here we have Obama- “Wetting” his pants over Jerusalem being the Capitol of Israel.
Hey! do not leave out Prime Minister David Cameron- He has just withdrawn his name and patronage from the British Jewish National Fund.
And they say that the Jewish lobby rules the world!

The US refusal to move the embassy to Jerusalem IS significant. It says that the US leaders dispute that Jerusalem is the Jewish nation’s capital. Whoever ruled Jerusalem it would be disputed because of this Hebrew prophecy which the people who LEAST know it are doing MOST to fulfil
: And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. (Zech 12:3)
Let us not confuse things. There are many in the US who support Israel. These are some of the people (they have also the Ku Klux Klan..and other). There may be a few in power who say they do support Israel… BUT the US state department is notoriously anti-Israel. There has arguably been only one US president who might be regarded as actually provably pro-Israel LBJ – and it’s not sure that the Israeli government always got on well with him, as he was also a friend of Jordan… in the lead up to 1967… Might I remind people – its not a popularity contest- it’s who wins! OK so Jews won Jerusalem in 1967, and some don’t like it- well, that’s their problem! And so they will be cut by it.

Well, i think many nations have done uncorrecktly by not moving their embassy to Jerusalem. Not doing so means they do not accept Jerusalem as capitol of Israel. Whit that decission they openly admit their standpoint, meaning this issue has not being settle yet. What are they reffering to, and what are the alternative issued under Un counsil?
1. Israely vitdrawal back to borders before 67, and the city being divided.
2. The city under international control as issud under Un divideplan from 1947.
How realistic are these two alternatives? Acording to Un language and the 4′th geneva convention of 48 ( dust being blowen of old forgotten documents suddenly being more importen than similar documents from same period) Israel are considered occupants and the moving of own population to this area are considered unlawful according to Un declaration meaning that the status of this declaration is similiar to internationlan law and can be(and as i have previously stated whil be) backed up by the international community. This can only mean force if neccessary, and Obama are clearly being pressed on this issue now. Jerusalem are the Un’s main target and the key issue in any discussion from now on.
Dont go on giving me tumb down, just because reffering to what is Un agenda. It does not mean and most sertanly it does not mean, that i agree in this agenda.

What is not mentioned is that although both Clinton and Bush also signed memoranda delaying the move, they NEVER stated that they were doing so for any reason and included in the memo an explicit pledge that the law would be upheld and the embassy moved. That progress on procuring land for the embassy was ongoing.
It is Obama who changed the wording of the boilerplate memo that has been used for 2 decades and now states that there is no plans on moving it.
Another clear break from US policy.

Fear not ‘o’ Israel. the Lord your God has not forgotten His chosen people, He declares throughout His word that He will gather, restore, protect, and save His people Israel for the sake of His servant David. In these times you would all do well to heed the voices of the prophets, repent as a nation, as a people, as individuals and turn back to the Lord our God, accept His son who died for all our sins, (both ‘jew’ and gentile), you are called by His name, this is why and how you survive all forms of attack against you, yet, He will not hold back His anger forever, He loves all of you and us, and desires relationship with us, cry out to the Lord Our God, find Him while He may be found, enter into joyous fellowship by His Holy Spirit and be saved, your enemies are all ‘doomed’ anyway, even those who wrongfully mistreat you, “vengence is mine saith the Lord, and I will repay”. It is not for us to do, trust in the Almighty as in the days of Moses, David. Abaraham, Solomon,Noah,Johosaphat, and the men of times before and today who stand steadfast upon His promises, He will never leave you nor forsake you, amen, love to all in Israel and my prayers for your salvation in Y’shua
