Prisoners apologize for Koran abuse

June 20, 2005 9:50 by

Palestinian prisoners apologized for destroying a Koran earlier this month. YNet reports:

The incident, which was compared to reports of Qurans that had allegedly been destroyed at the U.S. detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, evoked fear of possible prisoner riots. However, a special investigative committee found the prisoners themselves had torn the Quran copies in an attempt to stir controversy.

According to the Prison Service, prisoner representatives apologized for the incident, saying it was a Hamas-affiliated minority that carried out the act.

But this didn’t stop Islamic Jihad from claiming that today’s attack on an Israeli civilian car was ‘in retaliation’ for the Koran abuse. Reports such as Reuters’ included this absurd statement without reference to the admission cited above, thereby leaving the uninformed reader with the impression that today’s terrorist attack had some sort of justification.

In response to the earlier report on HR I commented as follows:
“When the Koran in the toilet at Gitmo story surfaced, it was as certain as night follows day that the Palestinian propaganda machine would churn out a fabrication along similar lines against Israel. Only an imbecile would give it any credibility.” (June 8) Having now read the Reuters article, I have discovered that there are many more imbeciles on the face of this earth than I previously believed existed.

MAKE THOSE LIERS INCLUDING THE ARAB MK’S RESPONSABLE FOR THESE CRIMES.
15-year-old Israeli boy, bleeding from wounds to his head and arms, took over the wheel of a van as the fatally wounded driver collapsed after being ambushed by terrorists in the West Bank when gunmen opened fire. village of Baka a-Sharkiya early Monday.
Yevgeny Reider, 28, of Hermesh in Samaria, was killed and Andrei Zaydin, his girlfriend’s son, was wounded by a fusillade of bullets when four Islamic Jihad gunmen opened fire on their car as they traveled through the village north of Tulkarm en route to Israel early in the morning. Reider, who worked for an antenna company, left the Hermesh settlement at 6 a.m., accompanied by Zaydin.
The four gunmen parked their car in a Baka a-Sharkiya alley, set up their weapons at the roadside, and waited for an unsuspecting Israeli car.
Despite Zaydin’s efforts, Reider was pronounced dead by an army doctor at the scene.
Zaydin managed to give security officials a description of the terrorists and the car they used.
Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack. A statement released by the group claimed it was in response to the alleged defiling of the Koran in Israeli jails.
NO DOUBT THE LYING TERRORISTS (INCLUDING ALL ARAB MK’S) ALREADY IN ISRAELI JAILS WILL BE CHARGED FOR THIS MURDER? Or will it just be time served!
