Security Fence Distortion

Photos like this one from AP are everywhere these days, portraying the Israeli security fence as a massive wall:

But in fact, only 3% of the security fence will be made from concrete – in particularly vulnerable locations such as East Jerusalem (above) and adjacent to Kalkilya, where terrorists burrowed under the fence, shot and killed 7-year old Noam Leibovitch in her family car in June.

The fence – made necessary by three years of unceasing Palestinian terror – is a temporary, defensive measure. Its opponents have the media on their side in falsely presenting it as a new “Berlin wall” – after all, that makes for a far more dramatic news photo.

This is misleading journalism and it demands a response.
