I was upset to read the post from Roy Tolchinsky demonising the Brits in the second world war as being pro nazi . As a child living in London at the time, as I remember, it was the Brits who were fighting the nazis, and being badly bombed and
killed in large numbers until the yanks joined in following the attack on Pearl Harbour!

Why would we want to stave off a body of people who worships a Jew?
Ireland shouldn’t say a word, they act like a snake who eats its own tail, fighting amongst themselves and having their “troubles” spill over into England, they seem to forget the bombings and the misery they have caused in destroying umpteenth families. What do you get when you mix orange and green? a very ugly grey!
So now they want to add themselves to the extended list of Israel/Jew haters, marvelous! Israel has become a whirling dervish trying to stave off all surrounding lunatics. With all these homeopathic governments, watered down to an inch of their lives and yet telling Israel what to do, no wonder its a world gone mad.
This is the best Irish joke yet!

I am a “Northern Irish” Evangelical Christian (Not narrow minded as portrayed by many), with reasonable knowledge of (1) the Biblical definition of “christian”. (2) The Irish, (Roman Catholic), attitude towards the Jews, and (3) Their ( the Irish) own skewed concept of “christian”, Also (4) the very restricted understanding the Jews have of ALL of the above. What the Irish Times cannot do is display a balanced view of the problem, why?, well they are full of “cloaked” hate towards Israel and the Jews, hundreds of years of Priest/Vatican brain washing has seen to that. Part of the real solution is for the Israeli/Jews to understand who their real friends are, possible but not likely!!

That is true but Christians have many problems not only with Muslims but with Israel too.
The settlements in the West Bank are a serious problem for our communities and we are third class citizens in Israel.
We have not the same rights to access to education . If we go abroad to study or work then it is impossible to return to our towns and villages because the Israel authorities prevent us to go in the country.
Israel makes things really difficult for us to reform our temples
Muslims … I don’t expect anything from the Muslims but I expect a lot from Israel and I understand how much it means Israel for many of my countrymen.

Muslims discriminate against anyone that is not Muslim or from the differeing sect of Islam, Suni or Shia. Bethlehem, Israel was 80% Christian until Oslo, now is down to 10% and struggling. Christians are NOT being helped by the attitude of the Catholic Franciscans who chose to parrot the PA blame of Israel rather than where it belongs,on the Muslims. Apparently they would all be driven out of Bethlehem if they didn’t keep up the lie. Is it any coincidence that areas of Christian Arabs, like Bethlehem and Nazareth/Galilee are being flooded with PA Muslims? Probably because Islamists know the world’s Christians do a poor job of supporting their brothers in Israel and in all Muslim countries like Iraq.

Miriam, you “don’t expect anything from the Muslims but do expect a lot from Israel”. It is indeed very commendable. But you must realize that this is more or less what all our “good friends” around the world are doing: expecting EVERYTHING from Israel and NOTHING from the Arabs. Very convenient!
Wouldn’t it be a little more fair to expect some decency and reasonability also from the Muslims, and accept that the Jews are also entitled to take care of their rights.

The Irish media needs to be more informed and tolerant in their coverage of the Middle East. Israel has sought to be tolerant and peaceful . Instead of being respected they are continualy misrepresented and scorned by the media.

Well, this explains Mel Gibson’s rants against Jews taken from his father’s irrational hatred of the Jews.
If someone wants to blame someone for the plight of the Palestinians, first try the neighboring Arab countries who still refuse to accept the Pal’s–Egypt and Jordan among many others.
Does anyone remember Golda Meir begging the Palestinians-they were just called Arabs back then–begging the Palestinians not to leave Israel as soon as the State of Israel was first created in 1948? The Pal’s chose to leave as the Arabs who invaded the new state promised them that as soon as they killed the Jews they could come back and claim everything the dead Jews left. It didn’t work out that way, the Jews defeated the Arabs and still the Jews allowed the Pals to stay and live among them.
The smart ones did stay and became Israeli citizens–the rest, well, you made the wrong choice–deal with it.

Well here in Europe people are told by the cultureprophets that the palasteniens are freedomfighters and are compared with the freedomfighters from World war 2. That wiew is mainly because our newspapers out of fear misinform the public and calls Israel an attacker instead of a defender of peace. Our real government here in Europe namely the EU has without the knowledge of their people made an agreement with the arab countries around the mediteranian see that they will host the muslim masses and promote the muslim culture. Whenever a person here in Europa oposes that political religion he is called a racist and persued – just like the Nazi-oposers were. In school we are told that when a bomb strikes among the palastinians they first send for a journalist and when he is finished, they call the ambulance, a very effectful strategi. The muslims has already many special laws and regulations and has caused a lot of changes in schools and other institutions because our political elected people do not dare to hold on to demokratic values.Like Hitler they use Denmark as a resort and provider of funds, and like before the danish government claim to cooperate to maintain peace. This is not the wish of the danish people and some of us is trying to make a chance, but we are not accepted by the majority of danes as they are MISINFORMED BY OUR PRESS AND POLITICIANS. This war will not be won in 5 years, but we will win at last because spirit and determination cannot be put in chaines or killed with bombs. Some time in the future the islamists will have gone too far with no return and the majority of muslims will fight them too – and we will help them.
