The British Empire Strikes Back: UK Body Rules Tel Aviv is Israel’s Capital

May 21, 2012 15:12 by

Nearly a month ago, The Guardian posted a photo of passengers on Jerusalem’s light rail observing a minute’s silence for Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day. The caption, however, prompted a correction from The Guardian, which had originally (and correctly) referred to Jerusalem as Israel’s capital:

The caption on a photograph featuring passengers on a tram in Jerusalem observing a two-minute silence for Yom HaShoah, a day of remembrance for the 6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust, wrongly referred to the city as the Israeli capital. The Guardian style guide states: “Jerusalem is not the capital of Israel; Tel Aviv is” (Eyewitness, 20 April, page 24).

Further resources: The Status of Jerusalem

Irrespective of whether the international community recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, it is simply inaccurate to unilaterally confer capital city status on Tel Aviv. Believing The Guardian to be in clear breach of the UK Press Complaints Commission clause on accuracy, HonestReporting submitted an official complaint.

Ironically received on Jerusalem Day, this was the outrageous PCC ruling:

There is really only one verse that matters. “I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you”, says the Lord your God. It will certainly be a shame for those who choose to speak negatively about Israel as their future will certainly be bleak and dark. I look forward to coming to your beautiful country in June and will be staying in your capitol Jerusalem, I hope to meet the wonderful people who live there and learn more about God’s nation and His chosen people. God bless you and keep you, may His face always shine upon you, Shalom

What did you expect from ‘The Guardian Newspaper’ (a stinking leftist socialist fascist ‘News-Rag)
Those Muslim loving journalists working for the ‘Guardian’ together with their ‘Editor’ are nothing more than bigoted leftist’s who hate the idea of a ‘Jewish-State’ the only time they would show any emotions for Israel would be if the State would be destroyed and all Jewish citizen therein annihilated by those Jew-hating Islamo-Nazis.
The Guardian don’t recognize the plight of the almost 1,000,000 Jewish refugees from the Arab lands starting in earnest from 1948 right through to the 1970s. The majority just over 75% settling in Israel the remainder scattered over the USA, Canada, South-America, Australia and Europe. It was to France that many Jews formerly from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt decided to settle, they brought the French Jewish population up from around 150,000 after world war two right up to around 600,000 today. What the guardian doesn’t realize is that around 55% of the Jewish population of Israel is comprised of the Jews and their descendants today who were forced out of the Arab world from 1948 onwards. The Guardian for political expediency are not interested in the parallel argument concerning the ‘Naqba of of the Jews from Arab lands. They together with their supporters of anti-Israel anarchists are just pure scumbags.

    mr andrew o`shea,
SIR, do you really think so?

I just have been to Israel as I do every year. And I am blessed in being able to go there.
And its truely THE mission to stand as watchmen and be a blessing.
And certainly in the first we need to look into our HEART which needs to be CHANGED,
from ROCK-HARD to LOVE-SOFT, which will happen by GOD`S GRACE AND LOVE THROUGH MESSIAHS RUACH HA KODESH.
Still it also shows us HOW GOD IS, in both aspects, where we tend and want to see only one.
I am shurly not saying that I myself understood what that does IS,
its FAR OUT TO BIG TO REALLY UNDERSTAND. We can read in Matthews 24-25 about this judgement, quote:
Matthew 25:34-40 – New American Standard Bible (NASB)
34 “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38 And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

SO … quite true the question is WHAT CAN WE DO or WHAT DOES HE WANT US TO DO

This is an example of incompetency and malpractice in the journalism industry. It appears that the Guardian was attempting to create controversy and strife. It also supports a divided Israel and appears to be pandering to the cause of a divided Jerusalem. If they had stated Jerusalem is the capital of Israel but like the United States , the cultural and economic influences are seen in other cities such as L.A. and New York. In Israel’s case this is Tel Aviv it would have been a fair statement to make. The comments they made are not.

If the Press Complaints Commission is unsure of the capital of Israel or any other state, it should check with the embassy of the country concerned. The Press Complaints Commission has no authority to make a ruling on a country’s capital and is outside its area of competence.

Personallty, I believe the Palestinian capital to be Ramallah, which is where all the nascent state intitutions are situated.

It is agreat distortion on the part of journalists and that is what they are expected to say. The intellectuals try hard to erase the Biblical facts glaring in their faces just to serve a purpose of capturing Jerusalem and handing to the Gentiles which must be so to fulfil the prophesy as it is said that Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. It is being done to fulfil God’s purpose. Every time God wants to accomplish His purpose He blindens the eyes of the people to do something they ought not to do.

Be my guest. We’d be better off without that parasitic province that have been bleeding us (the Western provinces) dry for years. Let them freeze in the dark for all I care. Quebec is out own homegrown version of “islam” so to speak. They have fragile egos and need to be soothed and pandered too. Oddly enough there are also more stinking immigrant sin Quebec from isamic shit holes, than there is in any other province (I suppose I should thank my blessings).

Too bad they were not able to separate. We could have given them a slice of southern Quebec and told them to piss off.

The British crave for Arab oil also their exports of military hardware and huge business interest in Arab countries. What can you expect from Britain.Eventually it will be a majority Islamic nation. They have Sharia law now in their courts which does not sit well with their democratic values. They declare Tel Aviv to be capital and not Jerusalem.Wake up and get real.Where is your sense of history and Justice. When there is justice, truth and peace then we will have peace on earth.G_D watches over Israel Always.

What do you expect from Londonistan?

The British have always opposed the Jewish presence in Palestine despite the Balfour declaration. But craving to keep a good image in the world they preferred to remain in shade and hank the fire with somebody else’s hands just secretly inciting, supporting and promoting anti-Semitic sentiments among Palestinian Arabs. It were the British who brought to power haj Amin al Huseini a pro-Nazi anti-Semitic figure who organized pogroms in Palestine long before the British lost their mandate. Husseini was a close friend of Hitler, and his visits to Germany and inspection of Nazi troops together with Hitler are well photo-documented. It were the British who barred the arrival of Jews in Palestine after the WWII before the official UN announcement of the creation of the state of Israel.

So what do you expect from Londonistan?

It is a pity that many of the members of this site, happily attack ordinary citizens of the UK because a News rag like the Guardian rights like an uneducated and ruined child.

Many people in the UK are standing for Israel the Jewish people and what the are rightly entitled too.

This rude, arrogant and bad attitude drives people away from the desire to support our / your Brothers and Sisters in the cause of Israel..

Might I suggest that if you wish to vent / evacuate your spleen, that you do it in correspondence and communication with the News rag in question / discussion.

It might be that if enough people do so that they will begin to see the need for a change in their anti-Semitic attitudes .. (Remeber news paper print only the stuff that sell’s … If people do not bye the rag.. They will cange.)

I know some of you just snorted with derision at this suggestion.. If you wish to criticise an indigenous people’s, walk a mile of two on their moccasin’s.

Your comment is well founded and makes sense. And I don’t think everyone is the UK hates Jews or Israel. However, if this is what the press is printing as that is what the ppl of the UK want to read, then that is somewhat telling.

This is another example of the venal and sinister British left, appeasing the Arabists, the Marxists and the Arab nation. Many of these hateful types are British Jews, sworn Leftists in need of being accepted to the “British Soceity” like Lord Kauffman, and many of the star Columnists at the Guardian and the Independent. Israel is fooling around, if it was up to me, I would have chucked out the Guardian reporter out of the country and forbid the daily from sending any official reporeter to Israel for 5 years. If after 5 years they chose to formally apologize, wrtie a formal retraction than, the application could be considered. Israel’s government is infested but too many appeasers-Lefties who want to be accepted in the international community. Therefore, Israel never reacted are hit back when it was right to do so because the timid functionaries and the underlings at all level of government are timid miserios. I (on another name) dealt with Israel’s government’s offices during the past (`1973-2005) and never found them to be smart, articulate, well educated or professional They were there because a relative, a political contact got them a job, suitability was never a factor, it was treated as an office job, never mind what office it was, they were processing credentials, never trained in dealing with the media. This is what you get when free loaders enter the bureaucracy, they remain there for life.
