Israeli athlete snubbed again

Israel was snubbed in international competition again—this time at the World Table Tennis Championships in Shanghai. YNet reports that Ayatollah Ashraf of Egypt refused to show up for a first-round match against Israeli Marina Kravechenko. Kravechenko won by default, but lost her second-round match against an Austrian competitor. The incident is reminiscent of a similar Iranian snub at last year’s Olympics.
