BBC, Israel, and Another Olympic Asterisk
July 30, 2012 10:56 by Pesach BensonThe BBC’s Israeli Olympic page is getting dumb and dumber. The country’s size is now qualified.
It used to say ![]()
But now it says

If only the Beeb were equally vigorous about putting a similar asterisk on “facts” from Palestinian sources.
This is after a whole stink over the Beeb’s handling of Jerusalem’s capital status. I can’t wait to see what other revisions are being made at British taxpayer expense.

And of course Palestine is listed as 6,335km^2. I wonder why that is not qualified as some of that territory is subject to a final status agreement.

Ofcom demands that neither side of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is given favour by British television channels. Given that generally the BBC seems to side with Israel more than Palestine, if you see yourselves in the right you should consider them as doing a good job.
Those territories are disputed. The BBC HAS to acknowledge that fact.
