Breaking News: Facebook Shuts Down Third Intifada Group

Despite previous statements saying they would monitor but not remove the controversial Facebook group calling for a Third Intifada, Facebook administrators shut down the group early Tuesday morning in response to enormous pressure from pro-Israel activists. All links to the group now go to users personal Facebook profile.
The group had been calling for a march on Israel to “liberate” Palestine beginning on May 15. It remains to be seen how Facebook will respond if similar groups emerge with similar message of a Third Intifada.
New media expert Andre Oboler, one of the first to discover the group was down, told HonestReporting that Facebook made the correct decision shutting down the group. “It’s about time,” he said. “Facebook needs to learn to distinguish between the right to ‘attack’ conceptual ideas, and the ‘wrong’ of attacking people be it because of their race, religion, nationality or political view. When they start to understand that, perhaps they will stop making so many mistakes.”

Israel is a tiny country, but they have democracy.Muslims Christians and Jews live in peace with each other here. Look what they did with this tiny country together. It was not like this in 48. Then it looked like all the states around with deserts of stones, swamps with Malaria Moskitos and dust. Now the country is green and everything can be grown there. Look what the Arabs around did at the same time with their countries? Their leaders stole everything from the people and used the rest of the money for rockets and guns to keep alive a pretended War with Israel.They use this tiny state as a Scapegoat so their people wont look at the lack of change in their own countries, they still only have only stone deserts and stinking ponds with Malaria and Bilhartzia.Look at the Nile All cloacks run into it and garbadge is trown into it. Animals that drink from the water get bilhartzia . Where did all the taxmoney and billions and billions of oil dollars go? Big Accounts in Schweitzerland famous cars Appartments in London and Goldbeds? And then millions of people living on Cemmetaries and eating from the garbage?
This is not a problem between Palestinians and Israeli Jews. It is only a problem of greed of the leaders in every single totalitarian Arrab state! This facebook Page is again a scapegoat to project the problem out of their own countries!!! Not a single Israeli Jew or Muslim want this War!!!! We made a garden of Eden out of our tiny spot. Start asking a dollar from each muslim in the world and buy trees and build automatic watering systems and grow your deserts green, so they can produce food for everyone like we did! That is a better idea for a facebook Page and then perhaps we at the same time can avoid the growing heatproblem in the Middle East! And prevent all of You fleeing into Europe trying to make that the new arrab states !

Bravo to Halla Suham, I understand you must be a muslim person as your name shows it. I really really do hope so. Because it shows there are some and very little muslims who are open minded. You are indeed, you see with open eyes the truth, the reality while most of your correligionaires are blind. Blind because of their governments, and commanders who want to keep their place as presidents (kings). They for that need to attack hardly anything anyone they have under hands.

Nik I agree completely with you!There are a large number of Palestinian people who are seeing things for what they are. It is my prayer that more and more eyes and ears will open up and that people will speak out against their own so called leaders who are only looking out for themselves and their families to the detriment of the bigger society!And this makes their own people suffer tremendously!Oh that peace will come to the Mid-East-and specially in Eretz Yisrael! Halla Suham: Beautifully stated and so true. I remember when the Israelis came to help in Haiti with the most advanced and effective medical systems. They are creating amazing sustainable technology as we speak. They have had to exercise supreme restraint while trying to protect and defend themselves. They encourage a harmonious existence but aren’t allowed to live in peace.

My yougest son is about to start middle School in a newly developed line. I was there to listen to the first children who finished 1 year at that line. They were all 12-13 years old. I was amazed that kids this age have so fantastic ideas.Several of their Ideas will change life for handicapped people on the whole globe forever!!!
I traveled much in Arab states and saw poverty without describtion! Children
who do not go to school and never learn to read or write.Families who put one child in a jar so the child will become totally crippled. This child can then as a beggar support the whole family! I saw Families selling their 7 year old girls virginity to higest bidder ! Victims of Burns who never got transplants and therfor never will marry or get a job! Handicaped people who never get a wheelchair or proteses for a missing arm or leg. Lepra,
Elephantiasis You name it!!! I lived on hotels in Egypt where they had toilets, but the watersystem did not work and still Egyptians used them until it was impossible to fill on more!
Areas that have one Physician pr 10000-20000 people and still most of them can never afford a treatment.
I saw children homes with orphants who wore filthy rags that had never been washed and they had no teddies shues or even teeth down in the age of 10!!!! Because the state will never even pay a dentist for those loosers!
I do not think anyone talk about the fact that we treat all Palestinians who need operations .You know how our doctors (Jewish- and Christian- and Muslim Doctors) feel when they are trying to save the life of a suicidebomber who just killed 34 innocent people and turned 50 people into cripples?
And as You said we send out our specialist to save life.
Israel is now trying to help Japan and send 50 physicians and water.
We send plastic surgents all over the globe to witjout cost operate young victims of Burns and explosions after naturcatastrofies,
When Eathquakes happens in Arab states they do not want our help! The leaders are afraid that their people will discover that Israelis (Jews Christians and Arabs) help without looking at race or religion!
We say if You save a human you save the whole world.
Most Jewish Israelis have so much suffering behind them and still carry no hate! We have fantastic tecnology and will share it with any Arab state who wants peace.
Perhaps Muslim children also dream of a mother who hug them and tell them You are my lifes light, You will make us prowd and become an importaint person who save lifes and build this country into a better place and don’t tell them that their purpose in life is to die and kill as many Jews as possible at the same time?
When ever it rains Israeli parents drive their kids to school so they will not get wet or catch a cold. We do not send our kids out to frontlines to trow stones at soldiers or play brave between bullet rain and trapbombs.
We Israel mothers can’t sleap when our children are soldiers for 3 years! Out of worry if they get enough food or are warm enough in the night or on a safe place, because we want them home, so they can become this new inventor or savior of other people and we want to see grandchildren from them, that we can spoil and hug!
I just want to tell my mother lost all her family in Holocaust and my great grandmother lost her family in Stalins Russia and her parents lost their siblings and cousins in pogroms!
Still my mother took in Iranian Muslim refugees and cared for them and they loved her all those years, they had no parents or other close family around !
I love Said the muslim builder from Tira who restored my appartment and when ever we meet he hug me and lift me up in the air in his strong arms . He is a clever and sensitive man who would never harm a soul! I know his children and have them all very dear!
Taim the arab who sells me flowers always stop his work and we talk for an hour about all his kids or mine or Asmi who polish my apples and never forget to ask to my health and serv a cup of Tea with Nana.
This is the true Israel that no newspaper tells about!

It’s my first time here and i would like you all helping me in my research about those people and some other organizations around the world, who are trying to boycott israel.
This days we are starting to build up our “BLACK LIST”

I know that Israel has done some amazing and incredible things that have benefitted the world (e.g. scientific & medical advances). There have been positive and negative actions related to the Arab population. This really isn’t about that… honestly. What it is about is that such hate speech is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE and a danger to everyone in the world. Would we accept such comments against any other group of people or country? No, we would not. So, why is it okay to ‘diss’ Israel and call for the maiming/killing Jews? Again it is important to say that any such calls for violence on a scale such as this(specifically another Intifada) is not something to be condoned. Shame on Facebook and any other website for allowing these pages! Whether it’s a neo-Nazi page or one like this…..

In reply to your message, you seem to be a hard head person like all your siblings, as much as u stay non democratics you will never get developed in mind. You have to know just one thing, that Israel and jews came on this world before you moslems.
And this Israel place was always belonging to the jews, thrown out by many people as they were weak, although remained many there, were also butchered in.You think you deserve Israel? But you and your religion has been coming much after Jews, so to whom Israel belongs? to your people ? Try to read a little history it makes good to learn as your poor people are not educated, try to teach your children some love instead to teach how to throw stones. Tell them Israel belong to jews more than 5000 years, now they came back after so much hard time to . Now they are there now they keep it, and if u want to live in this tiny tiny country you are also welcome. Try to go there, and see how palestinians live well there, they have castles of houses built with the money they earn from jews, they have tap water they are modern, they have everything they want. Would they have if Egypt would care about them????? Or any other arab country? Refrain to attack because you get back with intelligence and showings how is it possible the life of palestinians is so good. When they need hospitals or care, they are better cared inside israeli hospitals, and the mothers bless the israeli doctors who saved their child! Maybe one child for a moslem is nothing as they make so many….

@Hisham, it’s not a matter of being able to deal with the web page, Israelis have had long experience of dealing with Arab/Muslim hatred. The fact is, it is against the laws in most countries in the civilised world to use a web page to incite people to kill others.
Facebook took its time to abide by its own rules, and to realise that.
The crime against the human rights of Palestinian children was not committed by Israel but by Hamas and those who by-stand while Hamas ensures that mindless hatred and savagery is praised and passed from generation to generation as it teaches little children to love death more than life!
The Facebook page reflected the intransigence of the Hamas and other Palestinian sub-factions and gives us yet another insight into why they will never get their state, and why many people believe that they don’t deserve one until they can behave in a less barbaric fashion to their Jewish neighbour.
And uses your voices in hatred is what you are good at. Try using them to COMPROMISE to reach a peaceful future for your children.

Wasn’t the site shut down, as quoted soon after in the piece, because “Facebook needs to learn to distinguish between the right to ‘attack’ conceptual ideas, and the ‘wrong’ of attacking people be it because of their race, religion, nationality or political view. When they start to understand that, perhaps they will stop making so many mistakes.”
Why, then, couldn’t you help yourself from including the innuendo in the most important lead sentence in the piece?
Alex, Puuh-lease! Refrain from such cheap shots if you possible can.
Take all the pleasure you want from the global Israel Apartheid week activities on campuses all across the world.
Take all the pleasure you want from the fear Israelis obviously have of another Intifada.
Then tell us again and again all about how powerful and invincible Israel and her supporters are, ignoring all of their startlingly glaring weaknesses that can become the basis for non-violent change in Israel-Palestine.
I guess you were tempted by the fact that it makes good copy for people who don’t have a clue about what the word “contradiction” means. And who can’t see a glaring contradiction about what’s published on this issue when it stares them in the face.
Understanding that contradiction allows one to see the strengths and weaknesses of both sides in this troubled area and to support those fighting for compromise and cooperation.
There’s something in the atmosphere lately that indicates a trace of the possibility of moving a few real steps forward toward the creation of a common sense of humanity based on shared values. “Progress” that really seemed to be lacking in the world for some time now. At least I call it progress. It’s lifting my spirits.
Humanity has more than enough problems to solve and adventures and discoveries to face without wasting lives and energy on meaningless strife and bloodshed.
Those who are not clearly and vociferously on the side of this “solution” (more cooperation, less conflict) are part of the problem. Alex, what side you are on comes through clearly in whatever you write. Please join me on the side of the Solution.

Let’s not talk anymore about this page but lets instead get ur brains and good intensions together and try to make a new page that calls for peace! It has to look the same way exactly and it has to be written in Arabic!
But the message has to offer discussions and mental satisfaction to all this Young people who are actualy feeling bad ,borred or hopeless in their situation and have such a need for solidarity with others in the same situation! Hamas and Fatah live from this and need new soldiers inorder to continuesly get money from weapon dealers and others who earn on this ongoing terror War. They acually earn money on each and every lost youth.And they don’t care a damn about the individual or a future for him or her.
There is something totaly wrong when an 16-25 year old person do not dream of an education, a carriere or getting the nicest vegetable shop in the whole area like his father, or getting a good or beatiful wife and a family and succes in his work. But instead change all his longing and hope into hate and killing. It is Brainwashing and turning them into a Psycopats !
In my earlier years as a teacher I had a student who had been a member of the Tigers in Sri Lanka. He was 18 years old a bitter hateful and very desturbed young man. In this age he had alreaddy killed more than 20 people, but was now a refugee because ,he had been badly wounded.He was brought to Europe and put into a smaller Folks University where the students lived at the school . One would think he ought to look at some of the other students who inbetween were beatifull blond sweet girls, who spend half a year there, until they made up their mind what they would finaly study. But he didn’t see them at all , he only 24 hours a day planned how to get back and fight and kill as many as possible.There was no longer a SELF in him! Everything was turned towards destruction and I would say he had become a mashine. He said he had no personal visions, no whishes no hopes no dreams for himself,He said he was not importaint only the goal was importaint.He looked at the other students as indifferent insects whom he could wipe out in one quick cut if he wanted to. He had this knife that he caressed all the time and even kissed. He needed no carressing from me as a teacher ,he bare no longing for his siblings or parents. He was cold and had no feelings exept hatred.
The Tigers were trained by PLO back in the 70-80ties.
We need to get to those Young people who are the next generation of Killers.The ones that turn into this kind of heartless mashines.And turn them back into normal playfull happy youth that have dreams fall inlove and a see future with a well of posibilities.
They must be able to see normality.
Can we together work out a page that let them see there is a use for them as
the new positive leaders in their world, perhaps we can change the situation.
And make them understand they have to work towards bettering their situation and not
going into another country to kill! What kind of goal is that???
We need to make them join together and demand better Economi for families so the poorest also have a posibility to get education! Scolarships and cheap loans to make businesses, pensionfonds, free medical help ,
and better schools with no brainwashing ,better Universities .Food for everyone, And stop showing films with violence and blood and guns!!! Stop building tunnels and repaire your houses instead!
We need to use the same fists and blood and guns that they know as symbols and turn them into a Spade, a soft hand with a plant inside or with a book and the green in the flag should replace all the blood in it!!!!
The seal should symbolice a posibility to cut croop and not necks. And the halfmoon should symbolice that even in darkness there is a light to look towards. And existence is not a speed race to get as soon as possible into the total darkness of everlasting Death!
Then perhaps we have a tiny chance to change the public brainwashing and let people see what they are acsepting from their own without any resistance!
Sadly I have to tell You , my young student went back and continued killing and was eventualy murdered by one of his enemies. A totaly waisted life!

Its pleasing to see some retraction..however as with the owners of this facebook theres more to them than meets our eyes..they were slow to react and only after constant pressure withdrew what we could see..they will not have retracted it all…they are possibly an organistion that lives for money ..control and possibly lies..
The God of all heaven and earth knows who you people really are…repent those of you at facebook who have not done so yet, and seek His foregivness as the time is short.

It’s back up and like the slithering snakes they are, when one page is taken down another will swoop down to take its place. Has anyone seen the new shopping mall they’ve built in Gaza? Astounding! Here people are supposed to be in deep, deep poverty, yet there are more luxury cars on Gazan streets than in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv put together. Food abounds in Gaza, but just like here in the United States, some can afford to get more than others, that is the nature of life except when it is, as is starting to happen her in the good old U.S. a DELIBERATE stealing from the poor and giving to the rich and super rich. It is disgusting.
The Arab propaganda is better than ours because they had years to practice before hitting the media with threats of death for reporting the truth. Al-Jezera’s offices in Egypt were shut down while their offices are open and doing business in Israel.
Some Arabs are finally getting their heads out of their nether regions and are permitting Israelis to teach them how to plant, irrigate and haul in a harvest. Others would rather exist on hate. It’s entirely up to them.
It was reported several years ago that a little Arab boy saw Arafat, may his memory be that of disgrace eternally, wearing a Rolex watch and driving a Rolls Royce while at the same time he saw Sharon wearing a Timex, driving a Japanese rice burner. THAT got him to start thinking.
Oh well, I’m’ fixin’ to toss my laptop across the room so I don’t have to hear about this anymore, but…yeah, sure. I’ve been active in computing for nearly 3 decades now and would go into withdrawals if I did.
