Huffington Post Reposting Anti-Semitic Cartoonist

November 21, 2012 12:31 by

In a live blog, the Huffington Post included the following:

The cartoon itself makes the offensive suggestion that Netanyahu is profiting from Israel’s military action primarily to win votes in the forthcoming Israeli election. But the cartoonist is someone who should not be republished or promoted in any mainstream media outlet.

Carlos Latuff, notorious for his anti-Israel (and anti-Semitic) images, claimed second prize in the 2006 Iranian International Holocaust Cartoon Competition.

In an interview with The Algemeiner, Rabbi Marvin Hier of the Simon Wiesenthal Center stated of Latuff:

This cartoonist does not belong on the Huffington Post, because of his record of being a purveyor of anti-Semitic cartoons.

He always compares Israelis to Hitler and the Nazis. For that alone, the Huffington Post should not publish any of his work.

The cartoon is offensive enough to draw attention to the Huffington Post. That the Huffington Post considered a known anti-Semite to be worthy of inclusion on its site is doubly offensive.

The Huffington Post was created as an Anti-Israel and Anti-Semitic rag sheet so why should it come as a surprise to anyone that they would use a cartoon from Carlos Latuff. Once an Anti-Semite always an Anti-Semite. I wonder how Carlos would explain his hatred for Jews to Jesus.

People miss that in provoking this latest “incident” Hamas was also electioneering in that
violence brings right wing/ nationalist / sit tight/what we have we hold results. Left wing/partitionist Israeli governments are a blooming embarrassment to PLO/Hamas etc obliging them to squirm pretending they too have switched to partitionist peace policies……

Second, as with the first intifada and the Yom Kippur War, Hamas – on the word of Wm Hague British Foreign Sec no less, an organisation that usually crawls to the Arab World, blamed Hamas for starting this clash. The purpose being to pull back World diplomatic attention to Palestine from Syria and other real problems…..

Hamas started this last campain as they had much to loose if Abas had succeeded in the UN. Now, as they claim, they came out as winners and thanks to IDF with few casulties.
