See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Publish No Evil

What is it about the Mideast that makes a journalist’s natural skepticism go completely awry? When Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu publicly advocates for peace and negotiations with the Palestinians, the default reaction of many media is to cast aspersions on Netanyahu’s intentions, effectively accusing him of being underhanded or even untruthful.

But what happens when Palestinians make public statements of intent that don’t fit with the accepted narrative of Israel as the obstacle to peace? The media ignore such statements and rarely publish the story.

But what if Palestinians are actually telling the truth?

Take this video below of Fatah Central Committee Member Abbas Zaki interviewed on Al-Jazeera on September 23, 2011 (translated by MEMRI):

According to Abbas Zaki, an agreement with Israel based on the 1967 borders is merely part of a phased plan to destroy Israel in its entirety and such a policy must not be spoken about publicly.

The settlement should be based upon the borders of June 4, 1967. When we say that the settlement should be based upon these borders, President [Abbas] understands, we understand, and everybody knows that the greater goal cannot be accomplished in one go.

If Israel withdraws from Jerusalem, evacuates the 650,000 settlers, and dismantles the wall – what will become of Israel? It will come to an end.

[...]

If we say that we want to wipe Israel out… C’mon, it’s too difficult. It’s not [acceptable] policy to say so. Don’t say these things to the world. Keep it to yourself.

And what about Hamas, the elephant in the room that nobody seems to take seriously? No Western media published the comments of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran on October 2:

The Hamas leader said negotiations were a “mirage,” and only through armed resistance could Jerusalem and “the land” be liberated. He urged Palestinian negotiators not to make any settlements given their failure to “restore the rights” of the Palestinian people, including the right of return for Palestinian refugees.

So if the “mainstream” Fatah are advocating the end of Israel rather than peace with Israel and Hamas are consistently restating their overt desire to destroy Israel by force, why are the media failing to report on these?

Perhaps the media should stop speculating about Netanyahu’s intentions in regard to peace and start reporting on the Palestinians’ very real desire to destroy Israel.

Everything bad that happens is a test from Hashem. When missiles are shot into Israel, the government does nothing. When a father and son are killed with a rock, they do nothing. When the Palestinians ask for land, they give it to them. They destroy the holiness on Temple Mount, and we let them have it. A Mosque is destroyed, and they aplogize. Where is the remourse for their behavior? G-d gave us the land of Israel back, and the government bargains it all away.

When one fails a test, punishment always follows. It is the Israeli government that needs to repent for harming it’s own people, and showing contempt for Hashem. The Rabbis fight with each other, and no one tries to unify the Jewish people. If things do not change, other obstacles, and tests will follow. For our actions always carry consequences.

Your comments seem harsh, but perhaps fair in a totally unfair situation. If Israel is not willing to defend herself in every way, militarily as well as in the court of public opinions, no one else will.

“You promised and you are liars.” What a baby. Wasn’t something requested of him in return? To recognize a Jewish state’s right to exist, to stop teaching hate in schools, to prepare their people for peace?

Article should come as no suprise. The Arab world for the most part would like to see Israel taken over step by step. There must be recognition of Israel as a Jewish state. No right of return with any significance.Negotiated borders. A real government with which to negotiate a peace treaty.A banning of all Arab school books that foment hate towards Israel & Jews.Regaining control from the evil empire. Once all this is accomplished then a real peace can exist, & I will probably win the lottery should that come to fruition!

    This is no surprise-
I have a video from the older P.A.T.V- Where Arafat on his return from the UN where he said I acknowledge Israel’s right to exist- And then said on the PA TV “Take no notice what I tell the West” ” We will have the land from the river to the sea”

    Nothing has changed-

I have that video too- Illuminating isn`t it- Shows how they say one thing to the West (And they fall for it) then something different to their people-

I think Abbas and the rest- are all tarred with the same brush- At least Hamas and Hizbollah come out with it and say they want to destroy Israel- But thats even stranger because the Western, especially European politicians, dont seem to believe them. Or maybe they have never heard them say it-Says he with cynical grin on face!

Amazing you reached your campaign goal, given the frustration inherent in all the work you do, and only Jewish RSS feeds are willing and able to publish your and Palestine Media Watch translations of Arab statements in their own language – including our own State Department.

Part of the overall plan to eliminate Israel is to obliterate Jewish history and rights to the Holy Land. Thus the present Mufti of Jerusalem (why are all the Muftis such pricks?) issued a Fatwa that El-Quds is Muslim seven storeys above the ground and seven below. In other words no Jewish excavations and no building. Abbas declared in the UN that the Holy city is of the Prophets Jesus and Muhhamed, totally ignoring Jewish roots. This Holocaust denier should know that Abraham claimed the land 23 centuries before Christ and Moses lived 15 centuries before Christ. Christianity, (oh yes- Jesus was Jewish not Palestinian). preceded Islam by seven centuries, and despite the lies, Muhhamed never lived to see Jerusalem. In fact the Arabs conquered Israel six years after their prophet’s death. El-Aqsa was built on Temple Mount sixty years after Muhhamed’s death. Furthermore they burnt Joseph’s Tomb in Shkhem, and claim that Rachel’s Tomb is in fact a mosque. They also published their intent to build residences on the Western Wall Plaza. This is no clownery, The Arabs are very patient and consistent and this should not be taken lightly.

Ruben Salvadori’s talk on the active influence of photographers documents a widely distributed and long standing effect. In the 1967 Anti-war events I was at during college in Boston, I frequently saw (and photographed) news photographers calmly LEADING protest marches. Being at the front, they would turn around every so often to take their photographs.
One widely photographed and videoed event was of a person in a business suit carrying a briefcase breaking through a peaceful demonstration in front of a laboratory that did Defense research. He made it appear he was forcing his way to work against an illegal blockade. He entered the outside doors to the cheers of the workers inside. And then he had to stay by the doors. He had no connection to the laboratory and did not have clearance to enter past the vestibule. But that part was not in the ‘made for news’ news.
The whole event would not have been staged if the cameras were not there waiting.
There is nothing new under the sun. Just wider political usage and lack of ethics.

They have never hidden their intent and their resolve is fanatically strong and fueled by hatred and jealousy. They have and will continue to destroy as many Jewish historical sites as they possibly can to outrage and hurt the Jewish people and the state of Israel. They are quick to threaten and to play the victim and to engage in violence but they are extremely slow learners! How long will it take for them to gain a collective understanding that people who have survived systematic murder, torture, forced conversion and displacement over thousands of years cannot be brought to their knees easily. A Jewish homeland in Israel is for a Jew as vital, as necessary, as comforting as air is to the lungs or a mother’s touch is to a child. It was a long held hope, a cherished dream, a goal that was never discarded and finally a reality! These nudniks would save themselves and their future generations and the rest of the world a great deal of angst, bloodshed and suffering if they could put all the pieces together which point to the facts that the resolve of the Jewish people is equal to, if not stronger and more enduring than, their own and consequently that the Jews will never again be driven from or give up ownership of the land of Israel. I only hope that when Israel has been forced into a position where its military brings the Arab world to its knees the world media has the decency to remain silent out of recognition for the part it has played in bringing about such a situation. ???? ???? ?? ?????

THE QUR’AN SAYS THAT ALLAH GAVE THE LAND OF ISRAEL TO THE JEWS
AND WILL RESTORE THEM TO IT AT THE END OF DAYS.

Qur’an explicitly refers to the return of the Jews to the Land of Israel before the Last Judgment – where it says: “And thereafter We [Allah] said to the Children of Israel: ‘Dwell securely in the Promised Land. And when the last warning will come to pass, we will gather you together in a mingled crowd.’” [Qur'an 17:104]

They do not even fallow their own scriptures! Who are the fallowing then, the spirit of Satan revealing some new prophesy, even though he said their wouldn’t be anymore (Muhammad was said to be the last prophet).

In answer to Harry Hamburger. You are one of those prize morons who still don’t get it, that the world is full of those who would kill us with no pause to wonder why. The bloody Poles, Hungrians, Romanians etc. couldn’t wait to carry on where the Nazis left off. The British and US governments were also a disgrace. And over the last few decades it is th Arabs and adherents to the psychopathic Religion of Death who have taken up the cry for more irrational killing. So how does this square with your insulting vacuous head-in-the-sand bollocks that you spout. It’s idiots like you that will let it all happen again while praying that “God” delivers us. The only way that Jews have changed the outcome is when they have dealt massive death destruction and fear on their enemies, and if the Jews of Israel with God in their hearts and written on their bullets and blades hadn’t protected themselves, fools like you wouldn’t be here to post you drivel. If “God” has been looking.g out for Israel it’s a bloody good job he had a load of feisty survivors as his frontline troops. If you want to show respect go to the statue of Alexander Zeid and thank God that such men didn’t sit cowering in their tents while the Arabs attacked. You peacenik fluffy religious fools are the biggest threat to Israel’s existence because however evil and murderous the enemy, it’s always more prayer, more pointless ritual and ever more “God” that is your answer. Tell that to the millions slaughtered while they prayed. It is 2011 and this primitive mindset will kill us all.

The problem is only partly whether Israel has been too soft towards those who want to destroy it. The real problem is that it take Honest Reporting to disclose some of these speeches. Why is the rest of the world media NOT covering such hypocracy? It allows this to go on without informing the public in a more and more antisemitic world climate. It is constant and they share the guilt by just being silent bystanders when the Muslims reveal their real intentions and then come down on Israel every time it sneezes.

No I am not- I am not an American- So how-? I know there is trade and financial support for Israel- I also know Israel pays back America in many ways. But for the “those West Bank and E Jerusalem “thieving”Jews”-Tell me. Quote me some figures- Who do they pay it to- ?

As I said I know how America along with many other countries finance the Palestinian Authority-Which I note you conveniently side stepped the comment- Maybe thats an OK place for the Dollar in your mind? Because there America gets nothing back! If I recall Arafat in his day salted much of it in Swiss Bank accounts- and gave his wife and children a life of luxury in Paris-Whilst every one were crying for his “Downtrodden” people.
