In the aftermath of the Mavi Marmara, the world demanded a thorough, impartial and transparent Israeli inquiry into the affair.
Well, they got it.
The Turkel commission released its part one of its final report (296 pages of pure PDF joy).
Three thoughts as I skim through it:
- Unfortunate as it is, the Israeli-Egyptian closure of Gaza to contain Hamas is necessary, legitimate and lawful.
- Israel has significantly eased the restrictions on goods entering Gaza.
- I’m still waiting for Turkey’s thorough, impartial and transparent investigation.
In the meantime, make a point to surf the Turkel commission web site.
