Article Corrected, Nobody Told the Chronicle

Credit The Guardian with quickly responding to an HonestReporting reader who spotted an error in Hugh MacLeod’s capsule profiles of the Lebanese prisoners released by Israel.

Reporter Hugh MacLeod wrote — incorrectly — that Dalal Mughrabi hijacked two busses full of soldiers. The busses were actually full of civilians.

Let’s see if the San Francisco Chronicle — which reprinted MacLeod’s piece — corrects the record too.

Editors republish articles from other papers all the time. Isn’t there a system for papers republishing articles to be automatically notified of subsequent corrections?
