Our award for most dim-witted coverage of the Gaza fuel “crisis” goes to the Times of London:
Darkness Falls on Gaza as Israel Takes Revenge for Rocket Attacks
The lights went out on the Gaza Strip last night when the only electricity plant in the seaside territory closed down after Israel severed fuel supplies.
Amazingly, the Times doesn’t bother quoting Israeli officials who point out that:
A) Fuel deliveries haven’t been completely cut off.
B) There’s enough fuel for Gaza’s plant to continue operating.
C) Hamas is more interested in generating media spin than electricity.
Even news services like Reuters, the NY Times and the BBC at least quoted Israelis saying as much.
