Both Dr. Arun Gandhi and the Washington Post apologized for the professor’s comments about Jews and the Mideast conflict. The Post writes:
When we undertook this project over a year ago, we wrote that our goal was to shed light on a subject—religion—that too often generates heat. The Gandhi post failed to comply with that mission. . . We regret the initial posting, and we apologize for the episode.
Meanwhile, Dr. Gandhi offered to resign from his position as head of the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence at the University of Rochester.
