BurtonIn an appeal for Alan Johnston’s release, former hostage Kate Burton (pictured) outrageously equates the IDF with the BBC correspondent’s captors. She writes:

If you continue targeting foreigners such as Alan Johnston I fear you are doing the same that Israel did when its troops killed Tom Hurndall, Rachel Corrie and others.

Burton’s comparison only works if we believe that Johnston kidnappers were convicted of abducting him accidentally.

That’s a theory we failed to consider.
