While Muslims are up in arms over controversial cartoons of Muhammed appearing in the European media, CNSNews notes that one newspaper highlighted the hypocrisy of the protests. Referring to the Syrian mini-series, Al-Shatat, CNSNews quotes Die Welt’s criticism:
The protests from Muslims would be taken more seriously if they came across as less hypocritical,” the Hamburg-based daily said, noting that no protests greeted the depiction by Syrian television of rabbis as cannibals.
Arab cartoonists lack no venom, as illustrated by these cartoons drawn after Ariel Sharon’s stroke. And Tom Gross wonders about the absence of Arab protest over a variety of other cartoons generally demonizing Israel. Meanwhile, Groep Wilders, a member of the Dutch partliament, posted all the Muhammed cartoons on his web site so people can judge for themselves.
UPDATE: Wilders’ page isn’t working. All the images can be viewed here.
