Biography
Ben Zion Gruber completed his initial army service in the Hesder unit in 1980, finishing as a platoon commander ranking second lieutenant. Gruber then graduated from Israel’s Machon Lev Technology Institute with a degree in micro-computer engineering. He got his PhD in leadership from business and law school in London.
Since then, he has been involved in founding, establishing, and managing several companies in the field of hi-tech, finance and construction. Gruber extended his service in the IDF, completing courses as a battalion commander and brigade commander, then becoming a Colonel, took a division commanders course and serving as Vice Commander of Armoured Division 252. While combating as a platoon commander at the Sultan Yaacov battle in The Lebanon War, he was injured and hopitalized for a month in Tel Hashomer. He fought with 10,000 of his solders in Operation Cast Lead in 2009 and with 7,000 of them inside Gaza in Operation Protective Edge in 2014. He lives with his wife and family in Efrat.
