The leader of the Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees called on Alan Johnston’s captors to free the BBC journalist. The Palestinian news agency, Wafa, explains this ringing endorsement of Johnston’s work and the MSM in general:
In a statement, Secretary General of the Popular Committees, Azmi al-Shoyokhi stressed the necessity to release Johnston , adding that he had come to Palestine and lived in the Gaza Strip to convey to the world the suffering of the Palestinian people due to Israeli aggressions and violations.
“Leaving the Gaza Strip by most of foreign journalists is considered a loss to our people and his cause, particularly in light of continued war launched by Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, “al-Shoyokhi said.
