Security guards on duty at the Foreign Press Association’s annual Purim party strip searched Benjamin Netanyahu at the door.
“Yeah, it’s a little extreme, but the guards, God bless them, were just following their procedures,” said FPA chairman Joe Federman, when apprised of the incident. “I wish security for our Purim party wasn’t necessary, but that’s the situation.”
The Prime Minister, who was kept waiting for more than hour while his entire entourage was also checked, chatted amiably –if not awkwardly — with passersby. Two journalists from the Wall St. Journal and Al-Jazeera brought cheese sandwiches for the prime minister and hungry staffers.
Happy Purim to all our readers.
