Daily Mail: Palestinian Terrorist Shot Dead in "Retaliation" For Stabbing Soldier

On Wednesday, a female IDF soldier was seriously injured after being stabbed in the neck by a Palestinian terrorist. The attacker was shot dead at the scene.

This is how the Daily Mail chose to present the story:

Shot dead “in retaliation?!”

The headline places the Palestinian at the center of the story as the victim of “clashes with Israelis.” The assertion that he was shot dead “in retaliation” falsely implies that Israeli forces took revenge in an act of malevolence rather than an act of self-defense.

In addition, the Daily Mail has it wrong regarding the condition of the Israeli victim. Contrary to a “light wound to her neck,” the female soldier was evacuated to hospital in a serious condition having received life-threatening injuries.
