According to the Jerusalem Post, Hamas may not be able to deliver Gilad Shalit:
The Durmushes used to be close to Hamas but recently have been feuding with them. The sources said there was no certainty the clan would obey Damascus-based Hamas head Khaled Mashaal if he told them to release Schalit.
The same clan is believed to be holding BBC reporter Alan Johnston. If Mahmoud Abbas and now Hamas are both unable to resolve a hostage situation, much less deliver any kind of peace, has the time come for Israel to look for peace partners among clan leaders on a village-by-village basis?
