Italy’s Adnkronos International (AKI) reports the emergence of an insurgent group calling itself “Iraqi Hamas,” which claims it shot down a US helicopter over Baghdad:

Some analysts believe “Iraqi Hamas” comprises militiamen linked to the Islamic party in parliament and to the local chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Muslim Brotherhood holds seats in the Iraqi parliament. The overt existence of an armed group linked to a so-called “Arab political party” means more fast times for the Muslim Brotherhood and deja vu for Hezbollah. Pajamas Media aptly calls this “terror franchising.”

The US denies any choppers were downed.
