Israel has slammed the new “terror government” of Iran that has been chosen by newly sworn-in President Ebrahim Raisi.

Raisi’s picks include General Ahmad Vahidi for the country’s interior minister. Vahidi is a former defense minister blacklisted by the US in 2010. He was the head of the Revolutionary Guards’ international operations arm, known as the Quds Force, at the time of the bombing of the AMIA Jewish Center in Argentina’s capital.

Operatives from the Islamic republic assisted Hezbollah terrorist Ibrahim Hussein Berro, who rammed a car full of explosives into the multistory Argentine Israelite Mutual Association building killing 85 people and wounding hundreds more.

Vahidi is sought in connection with the 1994 suicide bombing in Buenos Aires and is currently on Interpol’s “red notice” for wanted fugitives.

Calling on the international community to condemn the appointments, Israel’s Foreign Ministry warned the new cabinet is “the face of the new terror government,” adding its ministers “are responsible for killing people around the world.”

Hamas terrorists stopped UN inspectors from checking a tunnel that was found underneath a school run by the UN Relief Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Zeitoun neighborhood, on the outskirts of Gaza City.

Palestinian sources say a UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS) bomb disposal unit only reached the site several days ago – at least two months after the tunnel was first found.

After learning UNMAS inspectors were at the location, Hamas police arrived on the scene and forced them to leave. The team then canceled plans to inspect a site beneath a different UNRWA-run school in Rafah where there is another suspected Hamas tunnel.

Both schools will be unable to open until safety inspections are conducted.

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, tweeted about the incidents and called on the UNRWA to investigate whether their facilities are being used for terror operations. “The international community cannot ignore Hamas’s heinous human rights violations & the state of terror it inflicts on Gazans. Hamas is a terror organization that uses innocents & children as hostages & human shields,” he added.

Arabs have been protesting against suppression and corruption by the Palestinian Authority during recent West Bank demonstrations, according to a new report by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

Groups of protestors have reportedly chanted “overthrow the regime” amid growing anger at PA President Mahmoud Abbas’ decision this spring to postpone elections and the killing of activist Nizar Banat by security forces.

In a bid to stifle the unrest, the PA launched a series of counter-protests during which Fatah members claimed the opposition was engaging in a “coup attempt led by Hamas.” At a rally in Ramallah, Fatah’s deputy chairman, Mahmoud Al-Aloul, warned crowds: “Don’t provoke Fatah, for we will not show mercy to anyone!”

The Palestinian press has strongly criticized the PA over Banat’s death.

Israel’s coronavirus cabinet has approved new measures aimed at curbing the rising number of cases in Israel. At a meeting on Wednesday, it was decided the so-called Green Pass will now apply to all indoor public spaces, except for malls and places of commerce.

This means that from August 18, people who have not been vaccinated will need to present a negative COVID test result before they can enter restaurants, hotels, swimming pools, gyms, academic institutions, sporting and cultural events and libraries. The Green Pass has also been extended to cover children aged three and up.

A report by the Coronavirus National Information and Knowledge Center warned that without significant new measures, there would be a “dangerous burden” on hospitals.

For the third day in a row, Israel has recorded 6,000 new cases, bringing the countrywide number of active patients to 42,203.

Jewish leaders around the world have hit out at a decision by Poland’s Parliament to deny restitution for Holocaust survivors, calling it “legalized theft.” The legislation prevents those who lived through the Nazi genocide of Jews, as well as those whose properties were seized by Communist authorities, from receiving any kind of compensation.

The World Jewish Restitution Organization (WJRO), an NGO that negotiates with governments on behalf of Holocaust survivors, sharply criticized the decision.

“We are outraged by today’s vote in the Polish lower house, which is equally unfair for both Jews and non-Jews,” WJRO’s chair of operations, Gideon Taylor, asserted.

He added that the bill prevents rightful owners from being able to take back what was stolen from them.
