President Isaac Herzog said on Monday at an event in Switzerland marking 125 years since the First Zionist Congress that “Iran’s behavior cannot be met with silence. Iran’s activities cannot go unpunished. And most critically, such a state must not be allowed to possess nuclear capabilities. Iran must be denied such capabilities by all means necessary.”

Also on Monday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that if Israel decides to move against the Islamic Republic, it will not have enough time to act before nothing is left of the country.

Meanwhile, former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen said on Monday that Israel carried out “countless operations” against Iran’s nuclear program when he led the spy agency.

Cohen also hit out at the emerging nuclear accord between Tehran and world powers.

“Israel will continue to do whatever needs to be done” to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear arms if a deal is signed…We can never allow a regime that calls for our destruction to get its finger on the nuclear trigger,” Cohen said.

Two Israelis were wounded in a shooting Tuesday morning near the entrance to Joseph’s Tomb in the West Bank city of Nablus after Palestinian gunmen opened fire on the car containing five people.

Israeli military forces entered the city and rescued the worshipers, evacuating them for medical treatment by ambulance and helicopter.

The Palestinians set fire to the Israelis’ car after the civilians were extracted before fleeing.

Relatedly, a firefight broke out on Monday between Israeli forces and Palestinian gunmen during an Israeli arrest raid in the West Bank village of Qabatiyah, near Jenin, according to the Israeli military.

The Palestinian Authority-run Wafa news agency said 11 Palestinians were injured during the operation, some severely.

Israeli forces entered the village in pursuit of a terror suspect, who had opened fire on IDF soldiers from within a residential building.

The suspect, identified by Palestinian media as Alaa Omar Zakarneh, a former Israeli security prisoner, was arrested, and an M-16 rifle was seized, according to the IDF.

Security forces also conducted counterterrorism operations in other locations in Judea and Samaria, including Hebron, Bidu and Jabal Mawalach.

A young girl went viral after a TikTok video of her confronting an IDF soldier was posted on the platform.

The video, posted by @potter.fan.club7, shows a Palestinian girl yelling at an Israel Defense Forces serviceman and then moving towards him. At one point in the video, she tries to punch the soldier.

The soldier then walks away “elegantly,” as the person who posted the video wrote. The girl also steps aside, only to come back moments later with her mother.

The video then shows the girl and her mother marching up to the same soldier, who at this point is joined by other members of the unit. Mother and daughter were unsuccessful in their attempt to antagonize the soldiers.

Germany is planning to increase its compensation offer to relatives of Israeli athletes and coaches massacred on its soil by Palestinian terrorists in 1972, amid a protracted row that threatens to cast a pall over the 50th commemoration of the tragedy next week, according to local media.

Lawyers representing the government and the families are set to meet in Berlin and Munich on Thursday. While details for the new expected offer were not shared, the existing compensation offer is for 5.5 million Euros ($5.5 million), to be divided between more than 20 parties.

The attackers infiltrated the Olympic Village and shot dead two members of the Israeli team early in the assault, while another nine were killed during a failed German rescue attempt, along with one German police officer.

The bereaved families have long been asking for compensation for the massacre — and for the behavior of the German government, who have been widely accused by Israeli officials of significant failings both before, during, and after the terrorist attack.
