Yesterday, we took note of an AP report about Hamas’ two faces. This morning’s Jerusalem Post reports a three-way split in the organization.
One group is led by Khaled Meshaal, who wants to take over the entire PLO and become the supreme Palestinian leader. The second group is led by former foreign minister Mahmoud Zahar and others who reject the Mecca accords as an ideological betrayal of Hamas principles. The third, most radical group kidnapped Gilad Shalit and is led by Ahmed Jaabri.
