I was supposed to accompany HonestReporting's mission to Sderot. Unfortunately, there was enough concern that the situation in Gaza would heat up. A busload of people can only exit a bus and take shelter so fast. Thus, Plan B.

Rather than guide us around Sderot, Elliot Chodoff, explained strategic issues at Nebi Samuel, the burial site of Samuel the prophet and observation point.

These two photos give you an idea of how close Ramallah and Jerusalem are. The buildings in the background below are part of the Jerusalem neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo.

The buildings atop the hill in the background are part of Ramallah.

We also visited the IDF Armored Corps Museum in Latrun and the site of an underground bullet factory in Rehovot.

I'll have to blog from Sderot another time. But more importantly for the residents of the city, no rockets landed in or around the Sderot when we would have been there.
