The Times of London was one of the major mainstream media outlets that failed to cover the brutal murder of Dafna Meir or the attack on the pregnant Michal Froman. It’s hard to understand why either of these terrible incidents were not deemed newsworthy by The Times.

It’s even harder to understand why, in the absence of any reports on Palestinian terrorist attacks against Israeli Jews, Times correspondent Gregg Carlstrom chose to write about this (subscription only):
Why does this story warrant publication while the murder of Dafna Meir was pointedly ignored? What is it about this story that piques Carlstrom’s interest? Is this an example of the almost obsessive need for the media and others to focus on and magnify Israel’s imperfections?
That this story has a Holocaust angle and involves dishonest Israelis also adds to one theory of bias against Israel that sees Europeans assuaging their own guilt over the Holocaust by throwing Israeli and Jewish morality (or lack of) back in their faces.
Let’s be clear – Israel is not beyond criticism nor should its imperfections be hidden from the world.
The story also appears in the Daily Telegraph and International Business Times. At least both of these media outlets reported the aforementioned Palestinian stabbing attacks.
That Gregg Carlstrom and The Times of London ignored the attacks and chose the illegal price fixing of Israeli school trips to Poland as worthy of publication in its international section merely serves to shine a spotlight on their skewed priorities when it comes to Israel.
