Israeli victims of Hezbollah rocket attacks during the Second War in Lebanon filed lawsuits against Lebanese banks in Manhattan and Montreal:
According to the complaint filed in New York by Zivie Taman and other Israelis, the Lebanese banks provided services to Hezbollah’s fundraising arm, the Islamic Resistance Support Organization, or IRSO. The plaintiffs said the U.S. court in Manhattan has jurisdiction over the case because the Lebanese banks cleared funds for IRSO through unidentified banks in New York.
There’s reason to be optimistic. In 2005, a US court fined the Jordanian-based Arab Bank $24 million for when it was caught paying “life insurance” to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers.
