The Poll Numbers You Won’t See on Your Social Media Feed

A new Harvard/Harris Poll shows strong American support for Israel over Hamas - but troubling numbers among younger voters reveal a growing divide.

You might not know it from your social media feed – or much of the media coverage – but the American public remains firmly on Israel’s side, according to the new Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll.

Conducted online within the United States on August 28-30 among 2,100 registered voters, the margin of error for the total sample is +/- 2.1 pts on a 95% confidence level.

Here are the results when it comes to Americans’ views on Israel:

The takeaway? The anti-Israel movement may dominate plenty of timelines, campuses and headlines, but it does not represent the American mainstream.

The numbers among younger Americans, however, should be a wake-up call. They show exactly why factual, responsible coverage of Israel – and of the terrorist groups seeking its destruction – matters.
