A youthful Islamic Jihad activist blew himself up outside a crowded falafel bar in Tel Aviv yesterday, killing at least nine civilians and wounding about 50.
“Terrorism” is the correct term to describe politically motivated attacks that don’t differentiate between civilian and military targets and are designed to create a sense of terror in the minds of the general public. Describing suicide bombers as “activists” only lends a degree of legitimacy to their deadly attacks.
