Why Did BuzzFeed Suddenly Resurrect Its Attacks on Pink?

BuzzFeed revives an old attack on Pink after her stand against antisemitism

By September 09, 2026

For those who don’t know, BuzzFeed is a major American digital media and entertainment company, best known for its mix of news, entertainment, quizzes, lists, celebrity coverage and viral content.

It has now published this remarkably nasty piece on singer-songwriter Pink:

The headline gives you an idea of the tone:

“From Making Fun Of Britney Spears In 2007 To Repeatedly Slut-Shaming Christina Aguilera, Here’s How Pink Built Her Career On Tearing Down Other Women”

And the subheading is even less subtle:

“Pink has always been fake.”

But the only clue as to why they decided to go after Pink is the opening paragraph:

If you have been anywhere near social media over the last few days, you’ve probably seen that people are revisiting Pink’s entire music career through a much more…shall we say, critical lens?

The article makes absolutely no mention of the reason for this: Pink sharing a post by the group StopAntisemitism, calling on Ed Sheeran to refund Jewish concert-goers for Macklemore-gate:

The relentless attacks on Pink are because of this brave stand and for no other reason. And despite not coming out and explictly condemning Pink for this, we could assume to know where Buzzfeed author Stephanie Soteriou stands on the issue even before posting this tripe:

Soteriou isn’t just an Israel-hating journalist; she’s also one who likes to use old material. She has covered this “Pink built her career tearing down women” narrative twice before, once in 2023 and another time in February of this year. But clearly she saw Pink’s brave stand as an opportunity to dust off her old post and use it again.

Perhaps BuzzFeed should add another category alongside Quizzes, Shopping and Trending News.

Recycled Smears.
