Gazans are risking their lives to speak out against Hamas. The world should be paying attention.
On June 26, anti-Hamas protests were reported in parts of Gaza, following earlier demonstrations in which Palestinians openly challenged Hamas’ rule. Protesters have faced threats, intimidation, and violence from a terror group that has controlled Gaza through fear for nearly two decades.
That should be a major international story.
Instead, much of the global media continues to cover Gaza through the same narrow lens: stories that portray Palestinians only as victims of Israel, while ignoring the role Hamas plays in terrorizing its own people.
When Gazans protest Hamas, they are not just criticizing a government. They are confronting an armed terrorist organization that has no tolerance for dissent and no free press operating under its rule.
That is exactly why these protests matter.
The lack of serious coverage is not just an oversight. It reveals a deeper problem in Gaza reporting. Stories that blame Israel travel fast. Stories that expose Hamas’ oppression often disappear.
If journalists cannot freely report on Hamas from inside Gaza, audiences deserve to know that too.
Because ignoring Hamas’ abuse of Palestinians does not protect Gazans. It protects Hamas.
