Arab MK Calls for Sanctions in The Guardian

According to the headline of an article on The Guardian’s Comment is Free site “It’s time for sanctions on Israel - The merger of the rightwing parties will increase extremism and racism against Palestinians. Sanctions are the only answer.”
The author states:
As the danger of racism depends not only on its callousness but on its power and influence, this coalition at the heart of government suggests a sharp rise in levels of racism and a dramatic decline in democracy.
And:
Whoever wants a just peace and to prevent looming wars, whoever wants to put an end to the crimes committed by occupation, whoever wants to combat racism, must help in imposing sanctions.
What’s noteworthy about this opinion piece is not the accusations of racism against Israel that are something of a staple for The Guardian but the utter hypocrisy behind the author’s call for sanctions.
For the author is none other than a Member of Knesset for the Balad party. Seems that despite being an elected Arab representative in Israel’s parliament, Jamal Zahalka can’t wait for the results of an Israeli election to be held on January 22, 2013. Just the act of unifying the Likud and Yisrael Beitenu parties is enough for him to jump the gun and call for prohibitive measures against Israel.
As if he needed an excuse.

This hypocrite found his hole to crawl into – The Guardian will print any malicious, vile, rabid anti-Israel comment it can get its horrible claws into. There really must be a terrible lack of ‘news’ in the world, because Israel is constantly making an appearance. Could it just be (excuse the cynicism here) that to write anything critical about an Islamic state might, just might cause a few problems for the reporter? Like being executed? Whereas good old Israel…..you can say anything you like about the Jewish State and nothing happens to you!!

Thank you for reporting the Guardian’s most recent insult to journalism and to Israel. That said, who really cares what they print? After all, the Guardian has no credibility on Israeli issues anyway!

There is a very good article by a Norwegian woman Hanne Nabintu Herland who addressed the JCPA in Jerusalem Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs. She is highly critical of the Norwehian establishment, media, unions, government, academia etc. you can virew this on the blog Norway Israel and the Jews,
She calls Norway the most anti=Semitic country in western Europe. She attacks and blames the radical left in Europe.. of which the Guardian is one. Liberal left is worse. For those who reside outside of europe, you should find this article well worth reading. It sums up the whole rotten lot of them

Where else can someone call for sanctions against the country where he sits as a member of parliament but in the only democracy in the Middle East? What is Mr. Jamal Zahalka doing as a member of the Knesset? Perhaps he rather sit in countries governed by Sharia law.

I am wery provoked by all this nonsense written about Israel and the biased comments.
Focus on what matters, human rights are being violated by Muslims in the middle east not
Israel. Who raise their children to bomb innocent people? Who kills in the name of Allah and treat their women like cattle.
Please stop this comments on Israel and focus on the Human Rights violations that matters!

Lisa, I believe that what s being reported here has a direct influence on the lack of human rights towards Israel, which is being demonised througout the world. Israel faces libelous and slanderous malicious accusations, all too often untrue.
Israel is facing calls for boycotts, divestements and sancations, like no other country in the world. It is what is being reported by various factions that helps to keep this appalling behaviour by supposed civilised nations and people. How can HR stop reporting comments on Israel? Surely, this is the while reason for this very important site.
The lack of any international empathic reporting on Israel as victims instead is disgraceful.

Zahalki, Zoabi, Tib, and the other anti-Israel Arab Knesset members should be expelled from it and put on trial for treason. Many nationsallow loyal oppositions to be in their governments. But Israel is the only nation in the world to permit a DISLOYAL opposition to be in its legislature.
