Hateful Academic Lets Rip at Bibi

Syrian civilians are being murdered on a daily basis. Iran continues its quest for nuclear weapons capability. The Middle East is undergoing a period of unprecedented uncertainty in the wake of the Arab Spring. But for Oxford academic Avi Shlaim, writing in The Independent, there is only one source for all the trouble in the region:

The main threat to regional stability is not Iran but the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. And the main source of hostility towards America throughout the Arab and Muslim lands is Israel’s oppression of the Palestinian people and America’s complicity in this oppression.

In a commentary piece timed to coincide with President Obama’s appearance at AIPAC and his meeting with Israeli PM Netanyahu, perhaps you would be looking for a cogent analysis of the situation. You certainly won’t find it here, however.

Avi Shlaim

Avi Shlaim explodes with a hateful polemic against Benjamin Netanyahu in a manner not even reserved for the Mideast’s most brutal dictators.

Benjamin Netanyahu is a bellicose, right-wing Israeli nationalist, a rejectionist on the subject of Palestinian national rights, and a reactionary who is deeply wedded to the status quo. … he has a selective and self-righteous view of his own country’s history and he is driven by distrust and disdain, if not outright hatred towards the Arabs in general and the Palestinians in particular. This hostility towards Arabs is the central thread that runs through his public utterances, books, and policies as prime minister.

Shlaim attributes to Netanyahu an ideologically driven hatred of Arabs while terming the Israeli coalition government as “the most aggressively right-wing, diplomatically intransigent, and overtly racist government in Israel’s history” and accusing it of being “in danger of drifting towards fascism.” But the real object of Shlaim’s polemic is Netanyahu himself, the “relentless rejectionist” with an “expansionist agenda” who

knowingly and deliberately blocks progress on any of the other ‘permanent status issues’ such as borders and refugees. Netanyahu is not a peace-maker; he is a land-grabber who rides roughshod over Palestinian rights. It is he who has turned the so-called peace process into an exercise in futility. He is like a man who pretends to negotiate the division of a pizza while continuing to gobble it up.

Unfortunately, the “Avi Shlaim”s of this world are all too familiar. They inundated the Jewish political mindset of pre-WW2 European Jewry, preaching Soviet utopia or or other Marxist dogma, which rational human beings can look on today as a ludicrous and self-evident distortion of ethics and truth.

Avi Shlaim and those like him will continue to proclaim Israel’s shocking immorality (which it laughingly called its right to defend its people). Today that immorality requires resolution in its “return” of Judea and Samaria to the Palestinians (including Jerusalem of course), and tomorrow the transformation of Israel into a fully democratic and peaceful socialist/Shaaria Palestine (see Iraq for an excellent model). All Jews (or at least those few who will be allowed to remain – the rest going “back” to Europe where they belong) will be full citizens with all the rights of Jews in other enlightened Middle Eastern countries (see Syria, Saudi Arabia, etc. for examples), only limited for their own protection, as any parent would care for a sick child.

Avi does not need to worry about his family’s continuing right to live in Israel, at least while he has tenure at a plush British university. After that, maybe he can get a job promoting North Korea’s near-utopian lifestyle, which would be perfect, but for the ethically moribund South Korea’s insistence that it also continue to exist.

His name should be shame, rather than shlaim.
This educator sees hatred only from one side, the Israelis. The contempt, the hatred, the religious/national urge to destroy the Jews, this he misses. Well, most of us Jews do get it right, we do not think that a PAC, one of countless others in the United States, has the power to change American policy and dictate the course of international events. Wait, maybe the dairy lobby can do that. Oil? That price really does fluctuate and cause international upheaval and concern. The oil companies are everywhere, hmm, just like you know who.

He’s too irrelevant and ignorant to bother with for the average intelligence, but for those who are already programmed not to discern he’s singing the same song. Can’t afford to waste time on that section of the community. But letters need to be written to the paper, highlighting the biased words, irrelevance and inability to be objective. No coloured language or emotion at all should be used. He’s so irrelevant!

ArabJews, Mizrahim, now constitute more than half of Israel’s Jewry. They and their families were made refugees after Israel’s War of Independence in 1948. In revenge for Israel’s defeat of the Arab armies, roughly 900,000 ArabJews were made penniless refugees to Israel. They are not Ashkenazim and the adjustment has not been easy. But it has been made far more difficult by the fact that Israel does not actively plead their case as aggressively as the Arab League does on behalf of the Palestinian Arabs. The world seems unacquainted with the Mizrahi cause.

Shlaim was never a historian but he confabulated for the Arabs using his standing as an accademic.
He is retired but not too retired to make a quid out of his spiteful twisted views.
Needless to say he married into an establishment, non Jewish family, where court Jews are tolerated to their face.

I wondewr if this satanist is perhaps married to a muslim family, or to a real Jew hating Christian family.
Either way, he must carry favour with the Muslims and by what he writes, he must be well paid.

Maybe Netanyahu’s attitude “towards arabs in general and Palistinians in particular” is based on their religious and political determination to murder Jews wherever they find them. Mr. shlaim may imagine he is no longer Jewish, cleansed by his self-loathing, but to the “arabs in general and the Palestinians in particular” he is just another Yid- much like Daniel Pearl.

OK, so let’s take a look at Avi! Born in Iraq, lives in England, married to the grand daughter of the man who once called Hitler “the greatest living German”, the same man who despised Jews but is also despised by many Arabs who regard him as being responsible for much of the trouble in the middle east – but back to Avi who licks the boots of the extremely anti-Jewish British establishment and regularly contributed articles to the Guardian!! Avi should maybe just stick to writing about history instead of making subjective judgments on those who make it – but then what advantage would that gain for him from his Arab masters? Maybe it has to do with family and he has been promised that his grand father in-law will get a better shake in the Arab history books if he shafts his own people and is able to turn public opinion against Israel?

Two of Israel’s most distinguished historians have previously criticised Avi for his misleading writings and erroneous pontifications. Now here he goes again!

Shame on you Avi! People who have listened to and watched Netanyahu over the many years well know that he is nobody’s “reckless junior ally”! Me thinketh that you do not loath yourself because you are Jewish rather you envy the great and the humble who make history and want to go down in history yourself as the historian who made the most pathetic judgements of all time!

One-dimensional hate Israel pograms took place at Hravard, the world’s richest Univeristy and UPenn among other Universities, pushing an agenda without free speech, in closed sessions, Israel as an aprtheid state and a one state solution, which would achieve the destruction of a Jewish Homeland, Prime Minister Netanyahu most elegantly made the case forIsrael’s Jewish identity in his recent address to AIPAC. Some Palestinian Arab Christian scholars have joined the one state solution but there motives are unclear, it may be that given the alternative of living as a smaller minority in an Islamic state they would be better off with Israeli Jews inclusive in a one state solution. What Christian would desire to live ina Shariah law Islamic nation where Hamas would be a dominating power? It isn’t just the malevolence of this one Professor that is a concern it is the ease with which American Universities defended forums for one-dimensional hate speech and defend it as defending free speech that has me deeply concerned over the irrelevance of these institutions of higher education in america today. Prime minister Netanyahu also had words of praise for the work his ambassador has done in the USA, has anyone seen the video where he appears in repsonse to an invitation to an open forum ina South Caliufornia University and Pro-Islamist Palestinians shout im down so that no dialogue can take place? That is how Islam, and Palestianians threaten the USA, they undermine genuine forums where free speech takes place and subsitute freedoms with hate. Just like the “Scholar” noted in this article.

It’s a curious fact of history that among the worst of the Jew-haters down the ages have been renegade Jews who are or were in desperate but ultimately futile attempts to be accepted into polite gentile society. From the inventor of the blood libel, one Theobald of Cambridge in twelfth century England to Gilad Atzmon today, these people have done their utmost to bring hatred upon the Jewish People. These days it is mostly masked, like general anti-Semitism, as anti-Zionism but one doesn’t need to scratch far below the surface to find the truth. In this collection of misfits and self-haters I don’t include the kapos for they at least had a reason, their attempt to stay alive. For the others it’s just gratuitous and an inexplicable defect in what passes for their character.

This man, Avi Shlaim reminds me of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Hitler had Jewish heritage
too. This man has “the Jewish name” but is not Jewish in any way shape or form. He
reminds me a Islamo-fascist Nazi because, like Netanyahu said, “If it looks like a duck,
acts like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…it’s a duck!~” He is no different
than any of the war-mongering, hate-filled, lieing, perverted billions of other people with no morals,
values, longing for peace or life; just another “piece of deadly trash!”

    Avi Shlaim
shame on you sir, your comment on the occupation of israel shows your accademic only knowledge.
whilst learning is great for living we need to know the truth and unfortunately university is not generally a truth filled place to find it.
i say truth for in universites we seldom hear the word Yeshua ..Jesus seldom mentioned other than in a blasphemous way.
He sir will enlighten you about the land issue which you have been mislead on.
This land is the land of God the Father of Israel. These are His coveneted peoples.
i am a new zealand borne european.
yet i do know this land is the land of the Jewish nation and will forever more be so.
Jesus said mr Avi Shlaim, I AM, the way, the truth, and the life that no one comes to the Father but through Him.
the God of Israel is not that of the muslim peoples as Jesus is a prophet according to islam
whereas Yeshua, Jesus is God in the bible so your God is different.
Yeshua said before abraham was I AM, in the bible I AM is God of the bible something many forget or rather may overlook.
i pray the truth will come upon thee and bring peace into your heart.

Insulting Avi Shlaim does not defeat his arguments. He is Jewish from Iraq and the family came to Israel in 50 -51 and he eventually served in the IDF. His academic pursuits took him to Britain because he is trilingual and can read all the relevant archives but his attitudes are stuck in pre 67 Israel and also a phenomenon I saw in my own family and know of, in some German Jewish families to be suddenly relegated from a metropolitan centre to the provinces which is what going to live in Israel in the 50′s and 60′s was, has a somewhat disconcerting effect on many. For that matter migration is a tough experience whoever does it, wherever.

More pertinently we are here to discusss some worthwhile opposition to the idea of a one state solution and the negative answers to the idea are plain as pikestaffs in the British exits from Ireland, India, Palestine and Nigeria; besides the French exit from Algeria. and in four of these the Moslem parties were determined to have their Moslem neck of the woods and ethnically cleanse the kaffirs. It follows that a one state move is a move into a degree of warfare and the Arabs had better instead of pushing for it, think why they should have in any way shortened their odds over 48 56 67 or 73.

Avi Shlaim is a renegade Jewish traitor, his name should have been Avi Slime because that is exactly what he is.
I was born in Syria, my parents fled from our Arab homeland after the Aleppo Pogrom of 1947.
For this man to sprout forth such poisenous venom against Israel is not only unacceptable but should be considered as high-treason against the State of Israel by the worst kind of traitor, that of a Jewish traitor. His citizenship should be revoked and never again admitted in.
No member of the Jewish community should ever speak to him again, he should not be permitted to have a Jewish burial. Let this slime-bag rot in hell with all the enemies of Zion.
