It’s Only an Outrage When Israel Cuts Electricity

November 27, 2011 21:01 by

Once again, Israel‘s talking about cutting electricity to Gaza.

And now, Turkey‘s talking about cutting electricity to Syria too.

Last time this was an issue, Hamas blacked out Gaza, but Israel was blamed for collectively punishing the Palestinians.

But I expect that everyone who condemned Israel — such as Jordanian cartoonist Emad Hajjaj, whose poison pen won a 2008 Dishonest Reporting Award — will today praise Turkey’s principled stand against Assad.

I support Turkey’s power cut.

But why is it only an outrage when Israel does this?
