UPDATE – Fight Over BBC Olympic Coverage Intensifies

The BBC’s controversial decision to omit Israel’s capital of Jerusalem from the information on countries participating in the London Olympics has drawn a strong response from the Israeli government.
Government officials have sent several sharply-worded letters to the BBC demanding that it list Israel’s capital as it does for virtually every other country. It also launched a popular campaign on Facebook called Jerusalem is the Capital of Israel, inviting the public to join the effort. More than 16,000 already have.
To recap, the BBC initially left out any reference to an Israeli capital while simultaneously listing “East Jerusalem” as the capital of “Palestine.” The BBC then amended the listings in response to public outrage and a letter from Mark Regev, a spokesman for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The new text replaced the word capital with “Seat of Government” in Jerusalem, while adding that most foreign embassies “are in Tel Aviv.” It made a parallel change to the listing for “Palestine”, listing “East Jerusalem” as the “Intended seat of government.”
For HonestReporting and all those demanding the BBC print the truth about Israel, the change was not good enough. Seat of government is not the same as capital, and Mark Regev sent a second letter demanding that the BBC end the discrimination against Israel. “Unlike all other countries listed,” he wrote, “in Israel’s case, our capital Jerusalem is not classified by the BBC as such but rather as a “Seat of Government.”"
The Mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, also issued a press release stating firmly that “irrespective of the BBC’s political agenda, Jerusalem always was, is, and will be the capital of Israel and the spiritual, political, and physical center of the Jewish people.”
As of this writing, the BBC continues to discriminate against Israel by treating it differently than every other country competing in the London Olympics.
Don’t let the media delegitimize Israel’s claim to Jerusalem as its capital. Take action now and support Israel’s demand that the BBC corrects its error. Send your complaints directly to BBC Sport.

That s because Israel has useless wimps running the Government Press Offices, aparatchnicks wowed by the Foreign press. Why can’t the accreditation office call the BBC and invite them to tender their press cards, because if they cannot recognize Jerusalem as the capitol, they cannot report objectively and should leave the country. Israel does not need to bow to these lefty anti-semites, and Regev should get more forceful and substantive, don’t throw away the country’s honor to the toilet, please take a firm stand, don’t be a jerk!

Well what’s new, britain abandoned their responsibilities in 1948 & armed Israel’s enemies hoping for annihilation,(sorry old chaps, God had other ideas), I for 1 am stunned that they fought & denigrated the Germans for the holocaust, yet continued the ‘extermination programme’ by arming arab nations and disarming Israel. These are truthful facts. A quick look at history shows us that britain could not ‘keep’ Israel for itself, so “no one can have it”, as for the ‘palestinians’, remember, Israel bought this land at a price and that was paid in full. God says “I will bless those who bless you & curse those who curse you”. So, look at britain today, it is almost a muslim nation, enough said.

Unfortunately the whole of Europe and now even the US has allowed a massive influx of Jihadi Islamists into their structure. They now know it, but are helpless to do any thing about it-
So the attitude is to appease.

For too long in the past we have let these people have the stage_ Because we were slow to react to their mis-information. The general public outside of Israel has fallen for their lies and changing of history.
We who surf the sites are being called “Hasbara Trolls” That I like it shows they now realise that they can`t just rant any thing they like without someone taking them to task. Slowley we will have them on the retreat-

A regular on BBC TV as a commentator for the Mideast is Abdel Bari Atwan of Al-Quds Al-Arabi.
Atwan has said, Speaking about Iran’s nuclear capability in an interview on Lebanese television in June 2007, Atwan stated, “If the Iranian missiles strike Israel, by Allah, I will go to Trafalgar Square and dance with delight.”
In March 2008, Atwan said that the Mercaz HaRav shooting, in which a Palestinian gunmen massacred eight students (aged 15 to 26), “was justified.” He added that the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva is responsible for “hatching Israeli extremists and fundamentalists” and that the celebrations in Gaza following the attack symbolized “the courage of the Palestinian nation.

Abdel Bari Atwan said yesterday the attack in Sinai that killed 16 Egyptian soldiers, that the Israeli Mossad was involved in the attack.
