I’ve gotten used to living in Jerusalem, so I’m used to passing by the city’s sites without giving much thought to the significance of this landmark or that site. So it’s good that once a year, I get to remind myself of the excitement and awe I felt the first time I experienced Jerusalem so many years ago.

Something else I don’t do often enough is pause to enjoy the wonderful photos people post on Flickr. If you’re like me, Jerusalem Day’s a wonderful excuse for a five-minute time-out to see some great photos of the world’s most special city.
